About a month ago I created an mp4 slideshow of photographs in the Organiser section of Photoshop. At that time the 'Create Slideshow' option was the 'timeline' that I was familiar with from older versions of Photoshop (going back at least as far as Photoshop 6). You could arrange your photos in the order you wanted them, add music, pick transition times and so on. WHen I tored to create another mp4 today (in the Organiser) I cannot find this feature at all. Instead there is only the very limited Adobe slideshow with its themes, which are very restricted. Has this feature disappeared? When I click Timeline under View all that comes up is a timeline showing me when the photos were taken
@John38506883j3ie, your post is somewhat ambiguous. So I can't tell what version you are trying to use.
The Organizer's slideshow function changed in Elements 13, I believe. That was about 10 years ago. If you want to create a similar slideshow, rather than the current themed slideshows, you would need to use a different program such as Premiere Elements.
In the current Organizer, you can still put photos in your desired order (although with some themes, photos may be displayed together).

I can understand how frustrating it must be to not find the timeline feature you’re used to. The “Create Slideshow” functionality in Photoshop’s Organizer hasn't changed over time.
To help you navigate, I recommend checking out this HelpX article on creating slideshows in Photoshop to see the options available. If you’re looking for more advanced control, Adobe Premiere Rush or Premiere Pro might be worth considering for your slideshow projects, as they offer more flexibility with timeline-based editing.
I hope this helps clarify things a bit. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out again!
Best,

Thanks Anshul. Unfortunately the article is not very clear. Can I confirm that the only option in the Organiser for a slideshow is that under 'Create Slideshow' and that this is restricted to the 'themes' in that section? In other words I cannot create a simple slideshow which shows one photo after another? What I was able to do before was drop photos into a timeline, add my own music, adjust the transition timing and method and so on. This functionality has either disappeared or I can no longer find it. Sorry to be a pain!

@John38506883j3ie Are you using Photoshop Elements? It sounds like you are with your reference to organiser. If so I will move your post to the Elements forum.

Hi Dave - thank you for responding. I have both Photoshop and Premiere Elements and the linking Organiser programme. I am simply trying to find out whether the functionality that was there (until recently) in the Organiser screens is still there or not. So, in short, I am not clear whether this is Photoshop, Premiere or Organiser specifically. ANy help you can provide would be great.

I will move your post to the Photoshop Elements forum. Some parts of Photoshop Elements are similar to Photoshop CC but some are very different, for example Photoshop CC does not have an organiser, hence the confusion with following help articles for CC.

In the current Organizer, you can still put photos in your desired order (although with some themes, photos may be displayed together). You can also add your own music. But if you need to time several pieces of music, you would have to edit the length with other software. You cannot change the themed transitions.
I believe many users still hold on to their earlier versions of Elements in order to use the old-style slideshow.
