Sonoma 14 Update

Sonoma 14.0 update on my Mac, killed some functions in PSE 2021 and PS as well.

My PSE 2021 Color Swatches and Color Picker no longer seems to work properly since updating to Sonoma 14. The Picker has a rainbow band at the top of the selector box. The default foreground box has a black band. And colors cannot be properly selected and there may be yet to be discovered malfunctions. Is a patch needed for Sonoma 14? Or is there an option that needs to be selected in Photoshop?

It's so frustrating when two major players (Apple & Adobe) point the blame at the other guy. I remember an OS update that caused PSE 2021 to crash. Eventually a fix showed up from one or the other company, don't remember which. Everything was fine until Apple struck again. I have the same color picker problems you do and supposedly going to PSE 2024 is the answer. Sorry, not going to fall for that again. I guess Adobe only cares to sell us a newer, even more breakable version and Apple thinks adding more widgets and emojis is what the user really wants. The only plus is I use PSE for my own enjoyment and don't have to depend on it to make a living. Both companies should be ashamed of themselves, but, of course, they aren't. They simply don't care.

Your only option is to get the latest version PSE 2024- it's still only $59. I have a windows machine and currently run all versions from version 10 to version 24. SOmething to consdier the next time you need a new computer.

You can thank apple for locking out older programs that contained 32 bit parts. PSE is no longer offically supported so they will never issue and "update/fix" for your older version.

OK ... I just bought a brand new Mac Studio, last year because PSE wasn't working with my older Mac. Then bought the newest version which was 2021 and now, a year later I again have to buy the newest version?! This is nearly as bas as, "safe and effective"! I wish my job didn't depend on it. I guess I'll save more money by getting a new job and stop using Adobe products. I can't use my PSE AT ALL. See image. I have blogs and blogs of blah blah blah about PSE. I will no longer be recommending this product. Rather the contrary unless this gets fixed expeditiously.

It's not going to "get fixed" for older versions, and yes pse 2021 is an older version. Your only option due to your OS ( I'm assuming it's ventura) is to get the latest version. From my view point it's entireply on Apple for killing of the support of older versions of programs.

It's still only $59 the lowest price it ever will be.

If your job depends upon it you can claim it as a business expense.
