I purchased ps el 2024 and installed it on my new Dell xps8960 computer, Windows 11. When I use the cursor, i.e. pencil, there is a low pitch sound when I move the cursor and hold cursor in place. What is going on? And how can I stop the sound?

This is a hardware problem, possibly from the fan. You should have your new computer looked at.

All diagnostics passed. So not the fan. After several tech support hours with Adobe reinstalling psel2024, Adobe said the hum is either a hardware or missing component in cpu. Adobe added Visual C++ files. Dell added a couple more files but no change. Dell upper level said psel2024 is considered a high end app and the hum will happen on Windows 11. So, basically, no solution except to practice ignoring the hum when mouse moves or holds position. The hum doesn't happen with any other app or program, or on my old Windows 10 cpu. Dell tech said they are calling Adobe to see if anything can be done. Wish there was a solution.

I just took a quick look at the specs for a Dell xps 8960. Can you confirm that yours has both an integrated GPU as well as a discrete Graphics card. If so, I'm wondering whether there is a problem having both of them operational. You might try disabling the integrated Intel GPU (in Device Manager) and only use the nVidia card, if that is what you have.
