Unable to open a NEF File in PH elements 14

While down loading pictures from my SD one picture will not download.. I get the following message:

All of the other pictures downloaded just fine.. the only thing different about this one was that I did edit it with PS 14 while it was still on the SD. I have tried to open it in PS14 while it was on the SD and I get the same message. It is a picture that I really want to keep.... any ideas or suggestions??

If you have already updated your PSE14 then your only options are:

1) Use DNG Converter available free of charge from Adobe Website;

2) Use the software that might have come with your camera. Some Cameras come with their own CD on whci they have their own software to convert the files;

3) Use the operating system to see if it can download the photos to your computer; which you can then open in PSE to edit it.

4) Use Adobe Bridge (available free of charge from Adobe) and when the photos are catalogued in it, you can right-Click on the photos to edit in PSE.

Hope this gives you some ideas what to do further.
