Please post a screenshot of what exactly are you seeing. PSE can't edit zip files so there must be something else that you haven't told us about.

Are you in PSE editor or are you in Organizer?
Adobe patch files folder is when you have updated your copy of PSE 12 long time ago. They don't affect the workings of your application so why do you want to uninstall your program? are you having any problems with the application?
I would just leave these folders as they are because you can't see them in PSE. It looks like you are using Windows File Manager or File Explorer to see what is in these folders, Is this so?

I'm getting these files when I open the software through the apps folder. Is this correct? Thank you again for your help. My program seems to be functioning properly I just thought since it looked different how it was opening I might have done something wrong.

No this is not correct. To open the APP, you need to use the link on your desktop or under All Programs if you are using Windows. There is no need to open the APP from the folders because links are given to avoid that.
Hope this helps.

Did you uninstall the program? why did you do that?
You need to install the program again. Your computer can't do anything if the program is not there.
Frankly, I don't understand why you are so bothered with zip files that don't affect anything.

I've reinstalled both lightroom and elements!!! I am trying to install presets and brushes to both!!!! In order for me to do that Adobe must guide me to the folders that hold my downloaded brushes and presets!!!! They are there in my downloads on my mac but I cannot put them into the area I'm supposed to because ADOBE isn't working!!!!! Launch your File explorer and then go to:
<C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12>
Then look for something like this:
Your brushes are all stored in the folder called: Presets.
You should really be asking these questions to the company who sold you these brushes and plugins. they should be supplying the instructions to install them.
Hope this helps.
