I am having an issue with printing PDF files that contain mixed media sizes to multiple PostScript printers/MFPs: 1) letter portrait and 2) ledger landscape. I have tested with PostScript drives to Ricoh, Kyocera, and Xerox systems with all 3 producing the same result (when printing via PCL driver, everything works correctly). The basic issue is as that while both paper sizes exit the finisher with the 11" side leading, the 11x17 pages are upside down (i.e. rotated 180 degrees) when compared to the letter sized pages. This makes it impossible to staple or hole punch the document in-line since all 11x17 pages must be manually rotated.
To take it a step further, I also have Fiery controller based printers where the very same job yields the correct result (tested Ricoh & Xerox). Upon exploring the PPD file, I can see specialized code in the Fiery to rotate pages larger than letter sized, but I cannot figure out how to modify my non-Fiery PPD files to correct the issue.
I have also tested with just a Word doc and the same issue occurs. My gut is that there is something in the PostScript definition that needs to be modified, but I cannot figure it out.

One correction, when printing from Word the output is correct. Also, utilizing most current version of Acrobat Pro DC 2015.009.20079

Fiery uses their own procedure to change media and rotation
what you see in PDD is just call to internal procedure of Fiery and it resides inside the Fiery controller itself.
Are you sending the PDF directly to the printer or you use file=> print

I am opening PDF and printing from Acrobat (File > Print).

The media control and orientation of every page individually depend on the capability of the printer driver !
Seems like the PCL driver you have used is good enough to allow you to do that and also I am sure the Fiery will do it
So the wrong exit paper is related to the driver not postscript

Okay, but in this particular case, my only option is using the PS driver with mixed media due to the application (I can get into more detail if needed). I find it odd that I’ve tested across 3 different manufacturers and even different models within a manufacturer and the same results occur. If it is truly an oversight by Ricoh, Xerox, and Kyocera (all of which their support has not been able to address the issue), then is there some universal PostScript coding I can adjust in the PPD to allow for this rotation of larger pages? I am fairly proficient with driver PS driver modification, but have never come across this issue before, and can’t seem to find anything in my research.

After speaking to Ricoh support, we are both confused how mixed media works correctly using PS from other applications (e.g. Word, Publisher, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat is the only application thus far we have tested that does it incorrectly.
