Black screen (empty frames) in exported video – problem with AI images

The problem concerns the combination of Generative fill with Adobe Photoshop Beta and ultimately with exporting videos in Premiere Pro Beta.

  1. Image from Midjourney (original prompt)
  2. Generative extension in Photoshop Beta - photos enlarged in height and width + saved to disk as a new .png and .jpg file, so that a 9:16 format is created, and the product is in the center of the frame
  3. Photos imported into the Premiere Pro project + added to the timeline in the project
  4. In the lower corner of each file using Generative fill from Photoshop, a CR thumbnail (Content credentials supported) is visible in a tooltip
  5. After adding to the timeline, photos with the CR thumbnail are visible in the project all the time - up to this stage Premiere Pro Beta has no problems and does not report errors
  6. After exporting the video - a black screen appears in places where files marked in the project with the CR thumbnail (Content credentials supported) were inserted
  7. Files in the project need to be replaced with those that were not modified in Photoshop using the Generative Fill function
  8. After rendering, the video each time has empty fragments (black screen) - this applies to each .png and .jpg file created according to the above scheme - it does not matter which file type is on the timeline in the project.

Hi Krystian, sorry to hear about your problems. Let me try to help.

Content Credentials are usually applied after the export is completed, not before or during export so I the issue might not be related to Content Credentials. To make sure, can you please try to toggle credentials on/off in the Export mode -> General section. You should find a checkbox there that controls the setting.

Also could you specify the build number you saw this in?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi,

Thank you very much for your suggestion and for your time.

Where you suggested, I did indeed have the Export Content Credentials option turned off by default. I will test this with the setting set to "on".

I am using Premiere Pro Version 25.0.0 BETA (build 39).

The strangest thing is that Premiere does not report any problems with the graphic files placed on the timeline, which make such errors in the finished material.

In addition to the problem already described, I noticed yesterday that when exporting a project (during material rendering), Premiere likes to get stuck on photos/graphics that I enlarged/modified in some way in Photoshop BETA (v 25.13.0 m. 2753) using the generative extension function.

For example:

  1. I import a "photo" from Midjourney into Photoshop.
  2. I crop it as shown in the screenshot.
  3. I save the file with a new name.
  4. I import it into Premiere.

Such a file in 6 out of 10 cases during export (rendering of the movie), where the program shows the percentage progress, Premiere Pro reports an error - everything freezes and I have to delete such a file from the timeline, otherwise the same information pops up every time during rendering. (Unfortunately, I didn't take screenshots of such errors last night - if something gets stuck again, I will attach a screenshot to our correspondence).

The movie only freezes when rendering (exporting) files created by Generative AI in Photoshop.

All other files added to the timeline (audio, video, .jpeg, .png, effects, etc.) work without any problems.

I will test this further using Media Encoder - I will see if I encounter similar problems.

If there are any major problems, I will write again.

Best regards, Krystian
