The Mask with Text Property seems to be broken

I'm using the latest Premiere pro beta, and for the last couple updates it seems that the mask with text property for text has seemingly broken.

Rather than actually masking anything, it seems as if the mask is created in the top left quarter of the screen with the rest of the screen showcasing the image that should be hidden away. Changing the image beneath, whether it is scale or position doesn't change how the image actually looks.
