IDEA / WISH: Give an option to NOT automatic adjust for LOG video on an per clip base

IDEA / WISH:
It would be great to be able to set the option to NOT automatic apply LOG to 709 transformation to a certain clip. (When in the general settings [auto detect LOG color space] is checked.)

REASON: sometimes shots are recorded too bright. The standard LOG to 709 conversion gives a blown out image.

WORK AROUND AT THE MOMENT: I re-encode the LOG clip in LOG and import it in premiere again. Then premiere does not recognise it as LOG and I can do the colorcorrrection myself. But this is time consuming.

Hi Christiaan,

There is a way already to do what you are asking. If you want to override Auto Detect Log Video Color Space for a specific clip, you can:

1. Right mouse button click on the clip (or multiple clips)

2. Select Modify > Interpret Footage

3. In the Color Management section, click on Color Space Override and choose Rec. 709

Regards,

Fergus
