Hi all,
In the latest beta of Premiere Pro (v23.5, build 31), we have added GPU acceleration for RED's R3D raw format on Windows. (GPU acceleration is already shipping for macOS.) GPU support works for AMD, Intel, and Nvidia GPUs that have 6 GB or more of RAM.
If you use R3D format in Premiere Pro, we'd love to get your feedback on this update.
Thanks,
Fergus

First of all thanks for finally bringing this to the Windows version.
It seemed to work fine in the beginning. Had a few minor crashes, but for some reason I sometimes get those when Premiere uses a lot of the GPU at once (i.e. loading many h264/h265 Previews). So might be unrelated and just due to the new workload on the GPU (RTX 3090).
I recently updated to the current beta 23.5 Build 45, and now the rendering breaks completely as soon as any R3D files needs to be rendered. The clips
Steps to reproduce:
I have a mixed timeline of R3D and other formats. I can click anywhere in that timeline where no R3D files are involved and the preview shows fine. As soon as I click anywhere where an R3D file needs to be decoded, or if I open an R3D in the source monitor, all rendering stops completely, even other formats. I only get a black frame as a preview in the source/program monitors. After that I need to restart Premiere.
Graphics driver is the latest Studio Driver from nvidia. Rendering still works fine in the non-beta.
