Hi @getho - Are your files stored on a cloud service like dropbox, or onedrive etc..?  Do you have any third party plugins installed?  What exact version of Premiere Pro are you on?

Can you try and hold down "SHIFT" while launching Premiere and check the boxes
"Clear media cache files"
"Reset plugin loading cache"

Hi @getho - It's strange that you say it worked for one session and then went back to not recognizing the files again.  Do you have any third party plugins or panels installed?  Do you have any apps that work with R3D files?

yes I know, right?  well I tried checking all 4 boxes on load (reset cache, prefs etc), and it still didnt work.  It complained that the insta360 reframe 2 was missing (because I'd used that on other clips in this test project).

Ok i created a new test project, imported some nevs, they worked fine. shut the project, opened it again, still fine
opened the original project, the original nevs didnt work, imported new ones and they did.  So I dont know, maybe it was idiot user error, it usually is 🙂  I'll report back if it goes squiffy again

Hi Jamie,
finally sorted it out: the insta-360 reframe plugin is the cause. When the project has .insv files, the nef files don't load in fact any bin that has nef files wont load any media in that bin. The latest version of their plugin also has this issue.

the insta 360 reframe plugin is dodgy on Win. It installs some QT codec stuff I think but it breaks compatibility with some other media. I realized this when I wanted to update to the latest plugin version but had to go back to their very first version which I believe is not available on their site anymore.

LATEST

Hi @getho  - What version of the plugin are you using?  I just tried the current version (2.3.2) and .nev files are playing and working in Premiere Pro Beta 26.0.0.50.  Let us know if the latest version helps your issue.
