premiere pro beta won't let me hold shift and Marquee Selection multiple things

New Here ,

It started happening out of nowhere, but when I try to hold shift, then drag and select a group of clips, it now deselects the previous selection and only selects what I've now added. Please help, this is a major issue for me.
