Hello, I need help. Some of my video clips are going black with no sound and I've been working on this video all day, just to go back and realize what I thought was a finished YouTube video is not, because of this issue. It's very disheartening, please help! How do I fix this? I'm on premiere rush on iPhone. Updated version.

I see. Perhaps you can export the clips you made in TikTok and reimport them to Rush. That would work. Do you have a desktop computer handy? I would use Shutter Encoder, freeware, for that. Let me know if that works for you, @Lexquisite.

Cheers,
Kevin

Okay, thank you. I just rewrapped the videos and replaced the clips. It seems to be working now.

Hi @Lexquisite,

Thanks for writing in. Which iPhone are you using? Please tell us more about your workflow (using "cinematic" mode, HDR, or HEVC for example). One thing to try is to change your iPhone settings for the camera to "most compatible" mode. That works for a lot of people.

I'm sorry for the frustration. I hope we can help you.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your response! I already had the setting switched to "Most Compatible." I have an iPhone 13 Pro. And the videos are HEVC.

Also, I realized the video clips that got blacked out are the ones I used with a TikTok filter, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Possibly! Test without the filter and see what's up.

Unfortunately, I can't remove the filter because it's part of the character. (I'm making a fictional YouTube series btw)

Thank you for the suggestion. I downloaded Shutter Encoder and it looks like I have to choose a function. Would it just be to rewrap the video, and then just export it to Rush?

Thanks,

Lexi

Rewrap is faster and does not encode the media again; it's the best choice if it works.
