I'm on version 2.8 on IOS. Had no issues until recently but now the old Export failure and crashing out of the app has started occurring again. It's infuriating considering the cost of the app. I'm using an iPhone 13 editing 4k video and stills from a GoPro. Does anyone out there have a fix or solution? Spend hours editing and get to the final stage, ready to share and then you get this ridiculous tech error. HELP!
The solution, for me anyway, is to optimize footage before editing with it and exporting it, especially on underpowered devices like mobile phones.
Files coming straight out of action cameras, drones, mobile devices, OBS screencaptures, etc. cannot be considered "optimized," so they are not ideal to edit with whether you are editing on a mobile device or computer. Your iPhone is capable of shooting ProRes, so I would go with that as a test.

Is it possible to transcode GoPro and iPhone files into an editing codec like ProRes LT before importing into Rush? That would probably work a lot better than those H.264/HEVC files. You can use Media Encoder. If that is not part of your subscription, check out FFMPEG-based freeware, Shutter Encoder. It works well too.
You can also try turning off hardware encoding/decoding in Preferences and restarting the computer. That can really help.
Please report back after testing with transcoded footage. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kevin

I don't accept that I should have to try to transcode my original footage on a computer to edit it on my mobile device. There is no product warning saying the app may fail if you try to edit video filmed with a GoPro. Since the original post, I have downloaded the app on my wife's iPhone 14, synced the project from the creative cloud and somehow it managed to render and export successfully. No changes to the original footage, just tried a different device. Shouldn't have to do that as the app is supposed to work on the 2 devices I previously tried - Sony Xperia Iii and Apple iPhone 11. Think I'll give Luma Fusion ago oncle my £40!!! Subscription expires. I went with Adobe as a trusted name. Misplaced trust it seems.
Thanks, James

I am having these same issues. Why have a paid mobile app if it can't render mobile video. It's infuriating. Deleting all adobe accounts.

I read your message. Sorry for the frustration. Can you give us more info about your project and what trouble you are having? If you are meeting system requirements, you should have no trouble exporting a 4K video.
The OP is using GoPro footage, which is not what I would consider video from a mobile device, necessarily. That is why I have alternate advice to handling that footage. I hope that makes sense.
I hope we can help with your issue.
Thanks,
Kevin

Mine is all video taken from an iPhone 15 pro max. It simply will not export. Crashes during rendering every time. Mobile Rush doesnt have many settings to adjust.

Hey @Clayton33222916imiv,
Is this with the latest iOS? Did it work before you updated iOS? I will let the product team know.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi I don't mean to interject, but I have projects that I have finished editing that were shot in 1080 HD & are stuck on my phone because it keeps crashing, when I try to export. I haven't had this problem the whole time that I've been using this program to edit my content on my phone. I am wondering if it's because I've kept my old files from the previous video stored in there and it's just getting too full? But I haven't had any prompt from the program that that's the case. A file a client is waiting on has been stuck for over 2 weeks now 😬

I got your note. Try updating Rush. A new release came out over the weekend. Let us know if it helps. Sorry for the frustration.
Thanks,

Hello, this problem is back. For iPhone 15 pro, iPad Pro 11 (4th gen) and on desktop. All footage shot on iPhone 15 pro. Constant crashing while editing, and won't export. Crashes immediatly.

Hello, here to say exactly the same. Very frustrating! Shot on iPhone 15 pro and not able to render past 13% before crashing.

Hi @Michael36088177f5af, @Clayton33222916imiv, @Georgina360885347hbw
Thanks for the note. Is there anything special about this footage that you shot? Is it 10-bit HEVC? Have you updated iOS? More info might help.
Thanks,
Kevin

Yes, high efficiency, Apple ProRes. I've transferred all the videos to desktop and am in the process of using Media Encoder to convert all the files. I'm surprised that this step is vital to the function of Rush. I was obviously incorrect, but was under the impression that the appeal of Rush was streamlining the video editing process, like quick we need to rush this piece out so just edit it on your mobile device. I'm just struggling to understand this and how to make the best out of the situation. Do I need to disable features in my camera settings?

ProRes should work. Which variety of ProRes was it? I can test over here.

It was HDR, ProRAW Max.

Thanks for the message. Unfortunately, the app was developed before that format was around and has not been updated for newer codecs. Sorry about that. Can you transcode the footage to ProRes or ProRes LT and see how it goes? Sorry for the frustration.
Thanks,
Kevin

I'm having the same problem. iphone 15 pro footage. Phone and app are both updated.
I also keep getting an error message saying "
No network connection. Only projects you have previously opened on this device will be available." When I am connected to wifi. The message still appears when I am on cellular. I have turned off and on my cellular, I have also removed and reapplied access to cellular for the app lol. This app has so many bugs it's ridiculous. Cannot get any work done and it's even crazier that my videos are less than a minute long.

Hi @camillewright,
I read your note. Sorry about that warning. Developers think it is due to sync no longer being supported. For more info, see https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-rush/kb/creative-cloud-files-end-of-life-for-premiere-rush.html.
I'm not sure what other issues you're having. Feel free to write a new post with any of those issues, and the community will assist you.
Thanks,
Kevin

Every time I am trying to render my videos shot on iphone 15 pro the app crashes almost immediately. This happens often while editing too. My app is updated. My phone is updated.

Is the footage HEVC 4:2:2 10-bit? Let me know.

Yes, one is HEVC. I do not know what 4:2:2 10 bit means. I am doing side by side clips of videos that are less than one minute
Ive attached images of the video details. All of the videos I am working with are similar. One is shot on my phone in 4k HEVC the other is not.
I'm a coach and just trying to edit game footage.
I'm not trying to do anything heavy duty but the app crashes whenever I use it.

Hi @camillewright,
Thanks for the info. You might try changing Camera Settings to "most compatible" so that you are shooting files Rush can understand more easily. See if that might work for you. Sorry for the pain points.
Thanks,
Kevin
