On the 9th of November Premiere Rush was working fine on my laptop. On the 13th November Premiere Rush started running very slowly, crashing and now videos have stopped playing in the video editting/ preview window- I see only a black screen.

I have cleared the cache, checked the graphics driver and windows have installed the latest updates. I deleted a number of projects incase there was an issue with space but I am not seeing any improvement. The program has become unusable which is a pain as I have several projects to work on.

Has there been an update to Premiere Rush that is causing issues?

Hello @authentic_wanderer8704,

I read about your issues. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps, like resetting preferences or deleting the media cache? Let me know. Please also tell me if you need help with those operations. I hope we can help you.

Cheers,
Kevin

So last night I continued working on my project on Premiere Rush. It crashed a few times but was working well enough that I made decent amount of progress. Rush crashed again and when I restarted the program my project had completely disappeared- 15+ hours of work lost!! Is there anyway to retrieve the project?

I'm at the end of my tether with Rush and will start looking at other free software instead- it can't be worse than this!!

I also began to have this problem starting in November 2024.  The program continually crashes upon opening and my entire project has disappeared now TWICE, after I re-did the entire thing.  Have you found a solution or did you get your project back?  I spent almost 3 hours on the phone with Adobe support, and they couldn't get my project back.  Their solution was to start using Premier Pro, which is way more complicated that my video editing knowledge allows for, which is way I used Rush...

I tried all the troubleshooting actions that I could find in other threads. I am not sure what you mean by resetting preferences though

Press Alt/Option at launch. That will allow a reset of the preferences. You can also delete all the media cache in Prefernces/Settings from the Home screen. Let me know if that helps.

Thanks,
Kevin
