Premiere Rush won't export GoPro HERO 12 video

Community Beginner ,
Sep 01, 2024 Sep 01, 2024

I have just started using Premiere Rush.

When I try to export a project of a GoPro HERO 12 video, Rush offers the option to "export at 4k" or "export".

If I select the "export at 4k" option, Rush sends me to a page to buy Premiere Rush.

If I select the "export" option, Rush hangs in the rendering process.

I don't have this problem when I edit video taken on my iphone 13.

I am using Rush on a HP Pavillion All-in-one Desktop. The desktop indicates that all drivers are up to date.

Hello @IJPh,

Your PC might be missing the HEVC components necessary for that export. Can you contact us about that issue? Go here: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html. In the lower right corner of the page is a chat pod. After connecting with an agent, ask for the "video queue" to route you correctly. I hope they can help you. Sorry for the nuisance.

Thanks,
Kevin

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hi Kevin, I chatted with an agent. I'm not sure if he was a video expert. He said "Premiere Rush comes as a starter pack. It does not provide you with the access to Premium features. Premium features like 4K editing, working with HEVC codec files etc. If you wish, I can help you in upgrading your plan."

So, I'm a bit confused, I thought there were people out there using Premiere Rush (free) to edit gopro videos.

I live in Australia: I'm not sure if this affects what functionality Adoibe allows?

Hi Kevin, Thanks for your help, I didn't get much encouraging advice on chat "help" , so I've given up on Premiere Rush. I downloaded DaVinci Resolve, and I'm finding it very good.

OK, thanks for letting us know, @IJPh.

Resolve is on par with our pro product, Premiere Pro. However, Resolve and Premiere Pro are more complicated than Rush (which is intended to create social media on mobile devices and computers). As an editor, the right tool depends on what you are trying to achieve with your projects.

I'm glad you're finding your sea legs in Resolve and can create projects there. Feel free to export an XML from Resolve and continue working in Premiere Pro. Some editors interoperate between the programs, using the strengths of each (Resolve has good color tools, while Premiere Pro has great editing tools and can work better if your ecosystem/workflow involves Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects). I hope furnishing that context helps you on your way as an editor.

If you ever do return to using Rush again, we'll be there to help you. Above all, good luck with all your projects.

Thanks!
Kevin
