"No files to show" in every folder

I've seen some older discussions around this but none of the solutions there (closing Dropbox, checking and unchecking read-only) work for me.

I'm getting the message "No files to show" in every folder on my hard drive and any attached SD cards. The specific files I want to import are .avi files. Lightroom can see these files OK and I can open them in Photoshop but Premiere Rush just cannot see the files.

Is there an option somewhere I'm missing?

Turns out Premiere Rush does not recognise .avi files, in order to make the files appear you need to convert .avi files to something it can handle. I used Adobe Express.
