Activation

Hi,

I can't activate my RoboHelp X5 by Internet, email or even by phone. Does someone know why ?

Hi ysahali and welcome to the RH community.

RHX5 is a fairly old version of RoboHelp that was released in the days when men were boys, dinasours roamed the earth, no one had heard of boy bands and RoboHelp was owned by Macromedia. When they were bought by Adobe, the activation ceased to work. However all is not lost. Adobe have an knowledge base article that shows you how you can get around your activation woes. I have a problem with the 5.02 update

Did you manage to install the 5.0.1 update successfully? If so, you should be able to install the 5.0.2 update in exactly the same way.

Uninstall X5.

Reinstall from the CD.

Apply both patches.

Then replace the exes.

The patch 5.02 still doesn't work

Have you tried downloading the patch again before running it? I have never known the download not to run OK.

Did you follow the exact steps I outlined?

It's beginning to sound like you might need to do a full uninstall of X5 as described on my site.

Alternatively, you could try using http://www.revouninstaller.com

Use the advanced method and make sure you only select the items marked bold.

Yes, i fully unistall the X5 and I have no problem with the 5.01 patch I think the problem with the 5.02 is about the path or maybe the spaces in the msi file name: RoboHelp Office X5.0.2 Update .msi

If the spaces were the problem, that would affect everyone who runs it.

Have you tried running it from another location?

Can we be absolutely sure that you followed the instructions for removing RHX5 as described on Peter's site (including the Adobe KB ariticle)?

Ok so i re-uninstall and reinstall the 5.02 and .. it works. Yeepy .. but ... yes there i a but ... my main problem the activation is still there even after i reboot my computer

Have you now gone to the last steps and replaced the two exes?

The thing is i don't know where it had install the exe. It is automatic
