adding styles for printed docs from x5 rh-html

I need to improve the appearance of our printed docs, which are single-sourced from Robohelp for HMTL Help into both .CHM form (look ok) and into Word 2003 (look boring). At present there's very minimal style in the source. I know only a little about style sheets etc. but if possible want to avoid too many mistakes & blind alleys.

Today I'm starting the tutorial by John McGhie Creating a Template (Part II) but know there'll be wrinkles about sourcing from RH which will need more understanding than that excellent tutorial gives.

Ideally, I'd get some kind of simple style sheet or template off the shelf, use it with our basic docs somehow, then adjust and improve it over time. Is that realistically possible, or should I work from the ground up?

Can anyone point me to shortcuts please? A plug-in style sheet? So much to do and so little time!

thanks
