We have an ancient RoboHelp project created in RoboHelp X3 with more than 1500 pages, a large index files (hhk fiile has about 20000 lines) and conditional build tags. The project file has the format mpj.
Is there any way to import this in the 2022 version or is there any recommentation how to transfer it manually including index, links, conditional build tags etc.?

That's a bit like OCR for something on a slate to get it into Word. 🙂
The recommended method is to try a straight upgrade first. The upgrade creates a new project and leaves your Classic project untouched. Thus if it doesn't work, you have lost nothing.
If it doesn't work, then the next recommendation is to get hold of RoboHelp 2019 and upgrade the X3 version to 2019 Classic first. Note that will affect your X3 project so back it up first. Important.
Try to go straight to 2022.3 and let us know the issues, if any.
If they can't be fixed, your 2022 subscription entitles you to download 2019 without further charge. You will have to go to Support to get the download. See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.

The upgrade functionality of RH 2022 does not support mpj files, nor does the version 2020 do. 2019 is no longer available for download.

Do note that there were significant structural changes in about RH6 or RH7 (post-X3) so I suspect a lot of manual cleanup will be needed. Whether that will be easier in RH2019 Classic or RH2022 New UI, I couldn't say for sure, but suspect at least link- and style-fixing in Classic might result in a better upgrade experience.

Contact support using the email address Peter supplied. They'll be able to give you a link for RH2019, which includes Classic.
