No preformatted table styles?

Explorer ,
Oct 15, 2025 Oct 15, 2025

I'm seeing I'll need to build or hunt for files with Table Styles to be imported - are there no prebuilt table styles to start with that can be modified?  Thus far the free template table styles seem to be built for much more 'minimist flash' than a more basic setup.

Am I thinking it may be easier to do a high res, blown up screenshot from MS Word instead of trying to fuss with getting a table to be somewhat similar?

Looking at your prior posts @MaradrX I think you've posted in the wrong forum - all your other questions were over in the InDesign forum, not here in RoboHelp-land 😊

You haven't said which version of RoboHelp you are using. Please always start a thread with this information. Go to Help > About to get the full version number.

There are pre-formatted tables. You ask if there are any and then refer to them as the "free template styles". Flash died several years ago so please clarify.

To create a table go to the Insert Table icon and select the number of cells and rows.

Then click in the table and click the Table breadcrumb. Then you will see the supplied options that you can edit as required.

Thanks for the reply.  Just downloaded this week and using 20.5 it seems.

I've been playing with tables for a bit and initially I was looking for preinstalled table styles that might be plain or have some simple options.  After tutorials and reading guides, templates, etc., I've learned this entire platform is more 'start from scratch' and have to add on for most anything, I was hoping Adobe would have at least a short list of table styles to choose from, like fonts.  The templates from 3rd party sites are numerous, but only have 1 or 2 table styles each, and importing then customizing for each table seems to be more tedium.  I better understand why these support sites exist - charging for these additional basics is likely lucrative.

Instead, I've found an online table 'beautifier' that allows copy-paste, then mods per row/column - gets the results of a better look and info within and no need to think or learn about tables in InDesign.  Is this 3rd party route the community has also gone instead of taking 30 min per custom table within the tool?

Are you using InDesign or RoboHelp? There's a lot of difference between the two products!

oh so sorry - this is InDesign - I'm not sure how this got to this forum, as I don't know that tool at all.

I don't know if InDesign is the same but I certainly wouldn't paste Word tables into RoboHelp, unless you want those nice people in white coats looking after you.
