Problems with PDF TOC

Hi everyone,

once again, RoboHelp is not quite doing what I expect it to do and I'm not quite sure why.

I use RH 2022.1.188.

1. I'm trying to create a PDF with a normal, numbered TOC. My content uses Heading 1-5, and Heading 1-4 are supposed to appear in the TOC. So, in my RH TOC, I created an Auto TOC in my Frontmatter.

Then I went to my Output's Template section, selected my PDF output and set "Use Headings up to Level" to 4. I also activated the two checkboxes afterwards, otherwise my PDF is messed up.

When I publish my PDF, my TOC looks fine, but unfortunately, only Headings 1 and 2 are included (corresponding with my RH TOC which only features Topics on Level 1 and 2)

Is there a way to include my Headings 3 and 4 as well? In the main text of the PDF, it all looks fine, Headings 3 and 4 are where they are supposed to be and they are numbered the way they are supposed to be etc.

2. And then there is another thing: Why does the TOC use the Titles, not the actual Headings within the <h1>, <h2> tags etc.? For example, I have two topics with the title "Montage WLAN 1" and "Montage WLAN 2". As the superordinate heading is called "Montage", I do not want to double that, and the topics are actually only called "WLAN 1" and "WLAN 2" (within the <h2> tags). In the TOC, "Montage WLAN 1" is displayed, not "WLAN 1". Is there a way to change that?

Thanks for any suggestions 🙂

First, I'd load the second patch for RH2022 - https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/whats-new-robohelp-2022-release-update-2.html - there's a bug in the RH2022.1 version that causes Help > Update not to work. Then try it again - there supposedly have been some fixes to PDF stuff in Patch2.

Oh, thanks! I didn't know about the update - I usually just check Help > Update or hope that one of my colleagues lets me know 😉

But yes, both of my problems solved itself. My TOC looks a bit funky now, but that's nothing I can't fix with a bit of CSS.

Thank you very much 🙂
