We use PDFs to "mark up" Help topics during our review process. We keep the PDFs for our review records.
In RoboHelp 2020.8.34, the "Restart Numbering at" Content Property is ignored in the PDF output. Numbered instructions across multiple topics appear as one continuous ordered list. This was supposedly fixed in RoboHelp Update 8 (Bug ID: 10509).
However, restart numbering does work in the Word output but that has other issues. I would rather go straight to PDF.
Any help is appreciated.
Same CSS files. I resolved the issue. A style in the CSS referenced an image that was not in Project B but was in Project A. The style was not used anywhere and did not have anything to do with my restart numbering. I also went through and revised all dropdowns to remove the old school POPUPs buried in the HTML source code, which I believe was the reason I was getting a 'cannot copy ehlpdhtm.js' warning in the PDF outputs View Log.

You might want to try out a copy of your project on RH2022 (Patch 2) to see if it's been fixed in the latest.

Thanks. I don't have the problem in RH2022 (Patch 2).
Sorry, but I spoke too soon. I have two projects. In Project A, restart numbering works in RH2020 and RH2022 PDF outputs. In Project B, restart numbering does not work in RH2020 and RH2022 PDF outputs. I based my previous reply on Project A.
I have pretty much determined the issue is in the project but I don't know why. Both projects have been upgraded the same number of times through the years with newer versions of RH. I know it is not in the topic. Topics with restart numbering work in the older project but not in a new project.

Same or different CSS files?
