Do I need an Adobe stock release for a photo of a vintage brand that does not exist anymore?

I would not. Someone first has to determine who owns the intelectual property rights to the brand name or if the rights have been expired. I doubt that Adobe will take a chance that they are expired. I assume they will stick to their policy of no trademark- or brand names.

Yes, you will need a release. The moderator will not determine that the brand does not exist anymore, and they will not research if, by chance, someone still owns the rights for the brand.
