Hi Everyone! Looking for feedback on why this photo may have been rejected. I'm a new contributor and am trying to learn the ropes. Any suggestions on how to make it admissible would also be greately appreciated.

Thanks!

There are several issues. First of all, you should have used the Rule of Thirds. You have too much empty space. What is the subject? The tree branch is most dominite. There should be less tree and more landscape. The landscape is too dark. The UFOs in the sky need to be removed.

It's not sharply focused, and the bright spots in the sky should have been edited out. Actually, a couple of them look like sensor hotspots. Sunsets are quite over-represented in the Adobe Stock database, with >21.5 million assets, so I wouldn't really bother submitting any unless they are quite unique and perfectly captured.

What is the photo of exactly? Why did you take it? The tree, the sunset or the buildings?

At the very least, the horizon needs to be levelled, the rule of thirds applied and the photo cleaned up to remove unwanted artifacts. I'd say almost everyone with a smartphone has photos like this in their photo library.

Stock photos need to be technically above average to perfect: composition, lighting, interesting or unique subject.

Browse through any stock photo library and see what accepted photos look like.

Hello,

Composition is important!

Therefore read these guides from Adobe to learn about composition and exposure. Photography is not about just pressing the shutter button.
