I don't know how to choose the asset type.
Should I set the asset type in the attached image as 'Illustration'?

In my portfolio, an ai image similar to the attached image was uploaded as a 'photo' to the asset type and approved..

(image size was reduced by more than half because it was not attached)

You can submit those as photos, but at least the second image should earn you a refusal for quality issues.

Yes, these would qualify as photos. If a portrait has a painterly quality to it, or the subject is surreal or is in a surreal situation or environment, I generally select Illustration, even if the primary subject, such as a male or female model, appears photo realistic. Otherwise, when it doubt, I select Illustration. Titleing and keywording take long enough without obsessing too long over photo vs. illustration.

Technically, you submit photo-realistic Generative AI images in the Photo file type, as long as you also tick the Generative AI check box. Photo-realistic means that the images look like they could have been taken with a camera. The first one fits this description, however the second clearly does not.
