Large amount of rejected content for quality issues

Hello everyone,

im new to this scene and I would like to ask for you help. I have uploaded 16 pictures recently and after 25 days all but 3 of them got rejected because of quality issues. Ofc when I tried to ask the support for help I got a generic, good for nothing, answer.

Could anyone look over a picture or two of mine and explain to me where the problem lies? This is very frustrating for me and if this continues I will delete my account and move on.

Thank you for your time

Best regards Chris

Leaning every so slightly on the right side, and the mountains could use some dehazing. The other one looks slighting underexposed.

Hello Daniel,

thank you for your quick response. I can see the point that you are making. Yet I find it ridiculous that Adobe is not able to give me this kind of feedback when rejecting the picture. If Adobe really is this strickt, I see no point in uploading pictures there anymore. After all it took 25 days for this picture to be rejected (no rant against you ofc. im very greatfull)

Best regards Chris

The moderators review thousand of assets per day. Adobe does not have time to give personal attention to individual contributors. As for your wait time, yes, it can be frustrating. While it often takes longer, Adobe clearly states that it can take up to 2 months for assets to be reviewed. So yours were reviewed more quickly than average.

Yes, "support" says that as well, but this is not a valid point for me. If someone looks at your picture and decies it has a problem it takes just 5 seconds to write: Horizon is not level. And they would be done. In the real world economy this kind of point would be a no go as well.

Now multiply that by thousands of assets per day. Or maybe close to a million. Some individuals are still probably uploading a hundred or more assets daily.  Meanwhile, many contributors are waiting up to 3 months and longer to have their assets reviewed. Your 25 days of waiting would assuredly have been longer if moderators took the time to respond personally to every asset the reject. And 5 seconds is pushing it. It took me at least four or five minutes to review your two assets and post a response.

In any case, that is why this forum exists: for volunteers to fill the critique gap left open by generic reasons for rejections.

Like I saied im gratefull to you. But this is not what I meint with 5 seconds. What I want them to do is write one line and thats all. This would help a lot and it does not take much time what so ever. I would even wait a few more days if that would be the case.

We suspect moderators must reach a daily quota of reviews and simply do not have time to give a reason for each rejection. In any event, I've been submitting assets for over two years and that's the way it has always been. I posted my very first rejection on this forum, and the comments that followed were enough to know what I needed to do going forward. I haven't come across a rejection since that I couldn't find the reason for rejection on my own, then edited it accordingly, resubmitted, and ultimately had accepted.

Meanwhile, you are certainly welcome to post more rejections here and volunteers will be happy to help. Once one gets a feel for what Adobe does and does not accept, one's own intuition eventually takes over.

By @christoph_5954

There was a time when moderation was done in two or three days. That was before Adobe stock accepted generative AI and there were less daily assets submitted. This discussion had already been held once at the time, and an Adobe employee said at that time that a delay of a few seconds would delay the waiting time for moderation for years. The situation today is much more difficult than it was then.

Now, the moderation is not done to make you a better contributor or photographer. The moderation is done to protect the buyer from bad assets. If I'm a customer, I invest much time searching the database for the asset I need. I would rather not find out, after my customer's approval, that the asset that I chose is not meeting the quality requirements needed to finish the project.

You, as a contributor, are supposed to contribute perfect assets. That's what I require from my suppliers, at least. You are not a contributor, you are a supplier, and you get paid for what you supply.

And all the other errors? And what if the moderator speaks only Hindi, Chinese, Korean, or Spanish? It takes more than 5 seconds to check an asset thoroughly. Your request is not realistic, sorry for this.

And, after a while, the poor guy will still write “horizon not level” (took me more than 5 seconds btw, and that without looking at your asset) even that you by now know that the horizon should be level, you did oversee the sensor spots, and did not correct the exposure.

Adobe expects that each Contributor is able to check their own images for compliance with the guidelines. They employ a large team of Moderators who approve and add about a million images to the database every day. They simply don't have time to inspect for every single issue in our images and provide a detailed breakdown of each error. To do so would multiply the time to moderate images drastically and would result in either having to hire a much larger team of Moderators or would make review delays much worse. Instead, they have provided this Community Forum for you to obtain useful feedback from other Contributors. Once you become familiar with the issues that the Moderators are looking for, you can become more adept at spotting them yourself before submitting. Your lake image will most likely be approved with that simple correction to the horizon line.

This would delay moderation to such an extent that the waiting time would be extended to years. Your images would certainly not be moderated after 25 days. By the way, the moderation was rapid, only 25,000,000 images had to be moderated before yours.

In addition, a moderator refuses at the first error they see. But in most assets are multiple ones. Refusal reasons are generic, but that is no problem for seasoned contributors. Only new contributors need some help in identifying errors.

As a buyer, I expect perfect assets, not assets that I first need to correct in painful time-consuming steps.
