New submission limits for Adobe Stock Contributors

Adobe Employee ,
May 20, 2025 May 20, 2025

Hello!

We’re introducing updated submission limits for Adobe Stock Contributors to help maintain the strength and quality of our growing collection. These updates support the continued success of both our Contributor community and customers alike.

When you reach your weekly submission limit or the maximum amount of allowed content pending moderation, you will experience a temporary pause before you can submit additional content.

Hi, my rejected asset count is 11,576. I know that's a lot. If this limit is based on my reject rate, would you suggest that I delete my contributor account due to such a high number of rejects and start over from scratch? Thanks.

No, but stop submitting bad quality assets. I strongly suppose that this is a moving target. So the more you increase your acceptance rate, the more assets you can submit. The same with sales. The more you sell, the more you can submit.

Great news and long overdue. Hopefully, this will encourage Contributors to cull their submissions and submit only their best and most unique assets rather than spamming thousands each week...

Adobe has not stated that, as it varies by account.

Great news, if Adobe pulls it off properly and fairly. The "approval rates," for example. That would include the "too similar" rejections, I assume, which many agree are decidedly random or entirely false in many cases.

Yah, that could be a problem; however, the rejection rates based on arbitrary, sometimes incorrect, rejection of similars would just slow down submissions, not necessarily halt them.

I'm not too worried. If I get two submitted per day, it was a good day. 🙂 But accumulated over time, I've had over 122 "too similar" rejections, which I've knocked down to about 102 after revising keywords and titles and resubmitting, again attest to the possibility that such rejections are based on incorrect data.

I feel this will make it more difficult to submit and get approval. They have decided to give their new variation creation tool more opportunity to gain success.

"I feel this will make it more difficult to submit and get approval."

That's the idea. Adobe is overburned with AI (not all of which is any good) and limitations needed to be set. I have no idea how their variation tool is doing in terms of popularity, but they still have to purchase the results. In theory, that works in the contributors' favor.

The submission limit does not make it more difficult to submit batches; the process is the same as it always was. However, it may slow you down and force you to focus on quality and uniqueness rather than quantity.

Submit, and find out. We don't know, as Adobe states it is due to a number of factors.

By @Nidhi23

It's a floating limit. When you hit the limit, you need to wait. Use the waiting time to select your assets more stringently.

Read the print screen that I posted above. It's a weekly limit, and once you've exceeded that limit you can't post more until the new week starts. I don't think we know yet when the week starts, so you should keep checking back every day to figure that out.

You will learn it by observing the activity on your account. I never submit large batches, only a handful of images daily, so I don't expect to ever encounter my limit as I am more interested in quality rather than quantity.

I would like to better understand the new weekly upload limit that has been implemented for contributors. I've noticed that this restriction significantly affects those of us who are just starting out on the platform. The portfolio growth becomes much slower, putting new contributors at a clear disadvantage compared to those who have been active for a longer time.

Have you encountered the limit already? How many do you have under review? The limit is established by a formula that measures sales and acceptance rates, so it appears the submission limits will be different on each account.

I don't expect to ever encounter the submission limit on my account since I submit only a handful of images at any one time. I probably haven't submitted more than 50 a week in a very long time. If you concentrate on quality instead of quantity and supply unique images, your acceptance rate and sales will start to grow. Adobe prefers a "slow and steady" approach to submissions, not large batches, and that's what they're enforcing with this new change.

Honestly, the situation feels unfair. It seems like Adobe is not truly supporting new contributors, as the current limits are disproportionately low compared to those of long-time members. Even after the recent update, older contributors can still maintain over 2K for analysis and continue working normally. Meanwhile, these changes are mainly hurting those who are just starting out, creating barriers that make it nearly impossible to grow or contribute effectively. It’s discouraging for anyone trying to build a path on the platform

I don’t understand why things are so strict and limited for those who are just starting out. The new rules mainly affect beginners, while those with higher limits barely feel the impact. It makes the process even harder for people who are trying to grow and contribute from the very beginning.

FALSE.  It impacts everyone equally. This gives everyone an opportunity to have their work reviewed in a timely manner.

New users need to develop good pre-submission habits.

  • Self-critique your work.
  • Pay attention to quality.
  • Compare your best work with current Stock inventory to ensure it's something Stock needs.
  • If it's not as good or better than what Stock has, don't submit it.
