Good afternoon. Can someone explain to me why about 70% of the images I generate in Midjourney that I upload are rejected with "QUALITY ISSUES"?
I am always very careful about the quality of the images, checking them for defects and doing upscales and clearly follow these guidelines for AI images but always about 70% of the work is rejected without explanation.
For example today I got a message that only 4 out of 25 images of the room with the fireplace were accepted. All images was generated with the same prompt and upscaled and I don't see any quality issues there at all. Why is this happening all the time?
For example, what are the problems with this image that I attached to the post? Where is any quality issues here?
The boughs of the tree are furry, indistinct blobs. The garlands don't connect. The candle wax is poorly drawn.
No, they've been accepted and they're already on stock.

You haven't understood, what I said. The 4 accepted assets were accepted by error, if they have the same defects as the one presented.
You have aliasing a bit everywhere in the picture. Example:
The geometry is inconsistent:
The lens blur is inconsistent.
1) blurred, 2)sharp
Is the packaging interconnected?
I would also refuse those with quality issues:
Every so often it takes time to sell an image. Not all assets are a success from the start on.
It's all just theory, but even if every image had been generated perfectly, submitting twenty-five images with the same theme might count against you with respect to having the majority of them rejected. I try to limit similar themes or subjects to a max of 4 or 5. If I have more than that, I'll submit them at a later date.

OK But 4 images with exactly the same quality were accepted, but 21 were not. That's very strange.

Then I suppose that the 4 other images should also get a refusal.

No, they've been accepted and they're already on stock. I just can't understand the selection algorithm. The same photos, with the same promt and the same quality, but all the time only about 30% of works are accepted. What's the reason for that?

OK I see now. Thank you

You're welcome.
As for your question of accepted vs not accepted assets:
We really can't answer that. It may be that the moderator was not looking as strict at the first or the last assets they moderated, or different moderators looked at subsets, or the assets were slightly better quality. It's not that you need to search a lot, but the obvious starter defects are not to be seen in these images. It's more that when you look long enough at the details that you see many issues:

Thank you. Maybe it also depends on the theme of the image and they just don't want to accept Christmas fireplaces, as there are already a lot of them out there. For example, the other 20 images of this kind of plan accepted absolutely all of them. But such images are unfortunately practically impossible to sell.

I agree with @Jill_C . There are also other poorly drawn things which can be found.

There, the rejection reason would be “similar assets submitted”. There are many contributors submitting 20 or more pictures of generative AI living rooms.
