Hello there,
I went from a 95% acceptance rate to 20% or less. Almost all of my submissions are being rejected for the "similar image" reason.
The quality of the images is really good and doesn’t have any issues.
I am uploading at most 2 or 3 variations of each object ,PNGs only and a variety of different items across many categories. I also make sure not to upload similar content that I’ve previously submitted. I am 100% certain that my entire account doesn’t have more than three variations of any given item.
Sometimes, I upload the same object in different styles.
for example, a car in a 3D style and another version in watercolor or clay, so they are still distinct. (2 to 3 variations for each style)
Is this a general issue that will be resolved soon, or is it only affecting me?
Yes, it affects your contributions in that they aren't made available for sale.
It is believed that "similar images" also refers to other similar images throughout the database from other Contributors.
It's not just you.
Others are seeing "similar" rejections, too.
I received a response in a day. But again, it was copperplate standard text. Point is to just let them know what's going on, since Adobe doesn't always check out some of the forums.
Don't use e-mail. Use the "contact us" form! https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/Need-Help-Contact-Us.html
A number of contributors are having assets rejected for being too similar when in fact they are not. We don't know why. Our only option is to wait things out until the situatioin is explained or fixed. Some have ceased to submit new assets in the meantime.

We can only speculate, as Adobe is notoriously close-mouthed regarding any changes to their internal business processes. The current reviewing algorithm, whether it's entirely human, entirely AI, or some combination of the two, is rejecting perfectly useful images. If slowing down the flow of new assets to be reviewed is Adobe's intent, they could simply reduce the submission queue for everyone to a much smaller number, rather than the current limit of 3,001. It simply doesn't make sense to spend system and human resources to review assets, then arbitrarily reject them.

I rarely get rejections, but recently I was also rejected due to “Similar Image(s) Already Submitted,” even though I’ve never uploaded any similar images. It’s really frustrating.

How do I solve it?

There is no known solution. Many Contributors have decided to cease or diminish new submissions since such a high percentage of them are being rejected.

I used to have a ratio of 1 image rejected for "Quality Issues" out of 10 submitted, i.e. 9 were accepted. Since a month or so, out of 10 submitted images, 6 get rejected for "Similar Image(s) Already Submitted" reason. And there are not even similar! This is crazy! What happens?!

This is a common issue and abundantly discussed in this forum. Nobody knows exactly what happened, but apparently, Adobe is using a new tool that leads to massive refusals for similar assets. Contact contributor support to get answers to this. (you will get a stock answer, but when many are complaining...).

Good day. Recently, works are often rejected because similar ones have already been uploaded, but this is not true. I upload completely new pictures on new topics and they still write that similar works have already been uploaded. Please help me figure this out. Why is the work rejected if I apparently did not upload it?

If you follow the discussions here in this forum, you will see, that this is an ongoing theme since a while. Apparently, Adobe has introduced a new tool that allows them to detect similar assets in their whole database. You can complain unsing the contributor support link.

I just posted about this because I didn't see this post at the time. Yes, I'm having similar issues yet I have some photos that are very similar that are approved. It doesn't make sense. Going to follow this topic. Thanks for posting it.

I chased this up today...

I think that there is Adobe's way of saying no, because they are lack of storage for those all AI images that are uploading faster thatn decade before. 700 millions now. 2 years ago was 400 millions

Storage is not the issue. I'm sure Facebook is richer than Adobe, but the number of assets on the latter would pale in comparison.

But how can you explain this email I got. They deleted 98 of my previously accepted assets

Adobe announced weeks ago that they were going to remove duplicates. This might also include similar assets or assets that no longer apply to any changes in their terms and conditions, or they found errors in the images.

You'll find these rejected images in the "not accepted" tab on your account. You'll have to click on them ine at a time to find the removed images since they are displayed in the sequence in which they were originally uploaded.

After receiving also the automated response, I sent an email requesting a review.
They continue to claim that my photo (I never use AI) is similar to existing photos on Adobe. Whole adobe.
It seems that the decision is based only on visual criteria, not content. I photograph nature and macro insects.
It looks similar, but it's something completely different. Because of this new guidelines,
I can't upload anything else because I already know everything will be rejected. How will you handle this in the future?

Many contributors face this challenge these days. I invested a lot of time last month, but at the end I had to face "similar image rejection." I tried to investigate what the algorithm likes to approve. So far, it seems to accept the vector files without any issues.

Talking of spamming, just one of 100s examples:

Hopefully, it's just a matter of time before whatever is crawling the database looking for similars will find this.

Agree! They should re-review the old hundreds of duplicates in portfolio of the authors to free up some space, but not banning the new. I'm sure that only 1-2 of those 300 sold. other just as ballast
