I am an icon and illustration designer.
When uploading to Adobe Stock, which file do buyers prefer, SVG or EPS?

Adobe Illustrator with embedded PDF for complex files, SVG for single icons. EPS is obsolete, even that some stock agencies prefer it over Illustrator. Adobe Stock, however, prefers Illustrator files... guess why?

What did you think?
EPS is no more actively developped and basically has the features from several decades ago. As an Example, EPS is missing transparency, which is heavily used by modern vector programs like Adobe Illustrator.

Abambo - sorry for the late answer but I would like to ask if Illustrator files are 'universally' accepted ..?

My preferred vector file type is Adobe Illustrator file (.ai) because it maintains layers & ICC color profiles.
I frequently export .ai to .svg for the web.
I stopped using .eps about a decade ago. It's a zombie file type now.
Hope that helps.
