Agreed. Many are using Topaz Photo, which encompasses fixing noise, sharpness, upscaling, and more, but it's more expensive and reviews vary.

There are online free versions available, but Topaz Gigapixel is the best.

They asked for the best... 🙂

It's the best, but still not perfect. 🙂 It tends to over-sharpen and even misshapen areas on occasion, especially strands of hair, irises, areas that are ALREADY sharp, and highlighted areas in general. Fortunately, the result creates a second layer if the Gigapixel AI plug-in is used within Photoshop. Then the over-sharpened areas can be masked out using varying degrees of paint brush transparency to reveal the original layer.

What do you expect to happen, when someone tries to create information that is not in the picture? If you have hot air, it will get warm. That's it.
In addition, when there are errors in the asset, they will be more visible after the upscaling.

Upscaling can introduce unwanted artifacts and make bad pixels look even worse. Whichever upscaler you choose, don't overdo it. Use it with a light hand and carefully check your work afterward.
Gigapixel AI is my first choice, too.
