This indeed the way to do, as you cannot directly expose the colors in the gradient node

Connect the Gradient Map into HSL then expose those parameters. This allows you to modify the Hue, Saturation, and Lightness. for a Color Gradient Map. Still has its limitations, but it can help with tweaking a Base Color.

Hi! I know it's late, but i created a video about my way how i create exposed gradient map result. In this example it's 3 color gradient, 1 base color and 2 shiftable

I made a little node a while ago, because I had the same problem. I wanted to expose the gradient-map color keys, but since this is a dynamic parameter, it's not really possible with the built-in Gradient-Map-Node.

So I made my own custom node which uses a Text-Input to enter as much colors as you want and translates the colors to a gradient, a bit like CSSGradients.
