Before I spend time trying to learn Substance, I'm hoping someone can answer a simple question for me. Is it possible to extract a 2D image from a Photoshop layer stack (e.g., a tree from a landscape), bring it into Substance, convert it to a 3D model, turn or otherwise change the perspective on that image, then return it to the Photoshop layer stack as a now modified 2D image?
No possibilities for Photoshop to turn 2D layer in real 3D object. In previous versions when Ps have 3D features you can only extrude selection. IMHO it easier to find required 3D object in Adobe Stock or Adobe Substance Assets.

Substance is mainly focused on creating and working with textures/materials rather than converting 2D images directly into 3D models. Substance allows you to create detailed and realistic textures that can be applied to 3D models created in other software.
