Backface Culling

I've been searching for this for a while now and it seems there's only a backface culling toggle option for the paint brush in SP, but for all other fill options like polygon, uv_chunk, triangle and object, backface culling is still missing after all these years.

Seems like a basic funcionality for a 3D paint app like Substance to me.

Could we please have this fixed, this drives me nuts, I keep screwing up my textures and masks.

Thanks,

R.

I cannot stress enough how rage inducing this is, especially finding topics on the old focum as far back as 2018 asking for this exact feature and obviously being ignored for years.  We need a checkbox in the properties box for backface culling.  I can't tell you how many times I've zoomed in to work on a section in Poly Fill mode only to zoom out to find I've completely destroyed the other side of the model.  It should be off by default to be quite honest, but I'll settle for *at least* being able to turn it off myself.

Hi,

As a user, this is something that I want as well! Better selection tools are on our to-do list, we can't give you any ETA though.

If you have any questions feel free to ask,

Kind Regards,

Geoffroy SC

It's been one year since this last reply. Any update on this feature?

So weird no other users are asking about this. So weird it's not a priority.

Hello Peter, hi Mark,

If there are not many users asking for the feature, this will indeed not be a top priority.

But to be fair, we are frequently talking about better solutions for selection tools, and as Geoffroy, I'd love to see that coming in Substance 3D Painter.

This will probably come sooner or later to the application, but I currently have no news on this regard.
