Hi @kirkr5689,
I'm not sure to fully understand your need, but you can't mask a specific channel of a layer without masking the other channels.
To color only the cavities of a Layer, I would either use a compare mask, or Anchor point with Levels.

Thanks Cyril , Could you please tell me how can i mask a specific channel only? You mean by doing a layer copy with say color channel only and unchecking it on original layer?
