Substance 3D Painter Not Using eGPU correctly

New Here ,
Jul 31, 2021 Jul 31, 2021

According to this page in the documentation https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/spdoc/forcing-the-external-gpu-on-mac-os-188974284.html I should be able to use an external GPU. When I follow the instructions and check 'Prefer External GPU' the center canvas of Painter is transparent. Only the window frame shows.

MacBook Pro 2018, MacOS Big Sur 11.5, Radeon WX 9100 and Radeon Vega Pro 56 external GPUs, Latest version of Substance 3D Painter

Thanks,

Greg

Hi, although the documentation mentions this as a potential solution for eGPU issues, eGPUs are not officially supported on Mac at this time so it may simply not work depending on your specific hardware and situation.
