You’ve shot great footage. But, you need to trim off the the first few and last few seconds of that clip.
Adobe Prelude was designed with broadcast and cable news organizations in mind just for that very purpose. It’s easy for reporters and producers to rough cut footage before giving it to craft editors to complete.
Some of these electronic journalists jump right into the big nonlinear editing (NLE) products: Adobe Premier Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer.
How about you?

Thank you, John.
For those who do not know, a Ripple Edit only effects the In and Out points

Yes... mark in/out (or, as you look at the timeline, the left/right points) and remove what is between the markers, and the ripple edit will make everything move to close the gap

We go back to Premiere 1.0 (Yes That was well before "Premiere Pro" 1.0.) and things like the Ripple Edit were not possible, then.
Ripple Edit does a few steps for you. It cleans up your clip and drops it right into the sequence of clips.

As cool as that may be, it's okay if you're thinking, "I have no idea what you're talking about."
That is why apps like Prelude have an important role in the media technology ecosystem. It doesn't require you to have the techniques an technical knowledge of a professional craft editor.

Hi Brian,
Maybe you can try Joyoshare Media Cutter. I usually use this tool to remove the unwanted parts of my video. It's very easy to use. You can go to its official website (https://www.joyoshare.com/video-cutter-win/ ) to know more. Hope it will help you:)
Best regards,
William

Thank you, William for introducing me to Joyoshare. We go back to the early beginnings of Adobe Prelude on the Mac platform.
Do you know if there is something about the technology which requires it to be Windows specific?
