Adobe Fonts Not Matching

New Here ,
Nov 09, 2022 Nov 09, 2022

I've tried to activate two different fonts today, FF Meta Serif and FF Tisa. Both said they were activated and they did show up in the Creative Cloud fonts list, but the Fonts site said they were titled as FF Meta Serif or FF Tisa, while the Creative Cloud fonts added "Pro" to the end of both, but Pro isn't an option on the website. I wasn't able to use either of these fonts in any of the apps, despite them being supposedly actviated, I'm assuming because the CC desktop app was claiming they were technically a different font with the Pro addition. I tried restarting everything, I tried deactivating and reactivating, but nothing is working. Help??

FF Tisa is the name of the font family. It is not the name of a font. It contains 14 fonts. Each font in the family has its own name, such as Tisa Pro Light. All this is normal. But you say you can't use them in the apps. What happens?

"Pro" is a qualifier, meaning that there are many languages supported. It has been introduced at the time to distinguish the font from the non-pro font, where this was the only difference. OpenType made it possible to add more characters with a font so that there needed to be a distinct naming convention. Before this, fonts came in different flavours, and you needed to acquire the correct flavour for the language you wanted to use with that font. https://creativepro.com/typetalk-what-makes-font-pro/
