Yes, that's what I thought I'd have to do. It will be frustrating when I know the distance I want the character to reach, but not the required angles to get there, but I guess I'll just wait for the next update

I rigged my arms into two sections, above the elbow, and below the elbow. However, when I rewatched the tutorial I learned that the standard method is to have the arm be one image, and have that image bend from within character animator. Is there away, either in the current version or the next big update, to have two-part arms that are dragable from the hands? (I just don't like the lack of control I have over how the elbow looks in the current method.)

Sorry, I thought I replied ages ago, but I didn't. The software works perfectly since the full refresh (deleting project folders), though back to my original question, it seems there is no way I can drag a hand while moving the shoulder. The solution presented here will only drag the hand associated with that angle, and won't drag the hands of the other angles.

It's the strangest thing. I went to bed thinking "crap, I forgot to delete the project files entirely, like I was instructed to". So I had a plan this time. Delete all files, go to welcome screen, load, navigate to the correct puppet, open the puppet" Well, I opened up the app just now, and first thing I see is exactly the puppet I wanted to look at, so I didn't have to do any of the steps above. I can't explain why. If I figure out how to replicate the error, I'll let you know, but I have absolutely no idea why it's working now.

I deleted the project file. (The one that's 0kb) Nothing has changed. There is still no project file, and the error message is identical. I could get someone to remote desktop if you want. I understand this sort of information is very useful for a project in beta.

Odd, it was loading fine yesterday, then the tutorial stopped loading. It still doesn't work. This is the error I get when I try to open. Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. I know the answer is yes, but there is more to my question: My character has puppet arms stapled from the shoulders, so for the character to stand side on, both shoulders would have to come closer together. Is that even possible? My first instinct was to have it work frame by frame, giving the character maybe 20 different pairs of arms to tween from one to the other. However, those arms wouldn't know they're the same arm, so wouldn't behave as one. My next thought was maybe there was a way of just moving the shoulders, but I couldn't think of a way. The only way I can think of, is if I were to animate the entire body turning on its side as a fixed animation, and have the arms turn from a preset resting position, however that is a lot of work for very small payoff. Is there any other approaches?

Sweet! I'm so glad you're back from your holiday, by the way. You have been missed. How is the next release coming along? I'm saving all of my character animation stuff in my project till last, because I want the next release to arrive first. On a side note, once my project is over, I'm going to want as much exposure as possible, and hopefully make the big leap from hobbyist to professional. This means that I would be overjoyed to hand all of my project files over to you, to do whatever you want with them. That way, if anyone asks to see my previous work, I can honestly say, "Yeah, I developed puppets for Adobe. If you go to the Adobe website, you can download one that looks exactly like me and animate him yourself. If you open Character Animator, see that guy in the top right of the loading screen? Yeah, that's me." What are the chances of something like that happening to my work? Do I need to improve much before I reach that level?

I've been editing my almost perfect automatic lip sync. The most common problem is any "P" between a vowl and an "S" like "Keeps". Easy fix. Delete one frame between the "E" and the "S" and the neutral closed mouth looks exactly like a "P". Perfect However, in another instance, the computer mistook my "F" for an "S". It's an easy mistake that I expect a non-English speaking human would make, but how do I add an F? Do I need to look for another F and copy/paste it? Should I record and F over the top? What's the intended workflow here?

I've never gotten them to work ever before, so it's entirely possible that this one is my fault, but I've followed the instructions here Prepare artwork in Adobe Character Animator as closely as possible. (It has a typo, by the way. "Front" should read "Frontal".) I couldn't find anyone else with the same problem, so it being my fault is very likely. How can I get this working? I have a *.wav file that's 10 minutes of high quality stereo and 203MB. I wanted to animate to it, but Adobe Animate tells me that the sound is silent. I know this is not the case. I tried the same process again with a much smaller *.wav file and had no problems at all. I know that the M or neutral viseme is all that's required, but sometimes I know I said "P" but the puppet has its mouth open the entire time. It's only happened maybe once every couple of minutes, so that's still a good run. I can fix it manually. Some advice I heard is that getting visemes 100% correct isn't important provided the mouth is open at the correct times and closed at the correct times. (Though, with my puppet, the tongue should be in the right place also.) No one ever noticed how few visemes Kermet the Frog had.

Yes, definitely a noticeable improvement, but still a little shy of perfect. So, the best workflow is a manual pass next? Or am I skipping a step? I notice it struggles to pick up the letter "P" when I say it.
