This looks like a limitation of a particular windows system and is related to the length of the "File Name" line. At me on win7 there fits a bit more than 6000 characters, that in photoshop, or in Microsoft Word. Both programs can not open files if the length of the names is greater than this value and the string "File Name" is cleared.
