If so, then vaitions in appearance are due to the rendering capabilities of the PDF viewer.   Acrobat does not always render fields perfectly sized and lined up when zoomed out (due to rounding errors when calculating the pixel positions), but your screen shot looks particularly bad. By @christoffer_4850 That is exactly how it is supposed to work.  So I did a little testing, and I can in fact, edit forms on my Android phone with the mobile Acrobat Reader.  However, if the PDF was saved to the cloud by creating a shared link, the PDF could not be edited until a copy was created.  But if it was saved to the Adobe Cloud directly, the field could be edited. So, there is some dependency on how the PDF is made available to the mobile app. I don't know if this is the same issue you're seeing. A Calculation script is a poor (and possibly outright dangerous) solution to this issue.  Never use a calculation script to act on the value entered into a field, because it has the potential to cause an infinate loop.    The correct location for such a script is any of the events that are triggered on data entry into the field. In this instance the Validate event is the best choice since it is triggred after the data is being (but not quite) commited to the field.  Keep your original solution and make sure to place the code into the Custom Validation Script for the field.      ... In the other thread a regular expression was used to test for a an empty field value.  You're current request isn't really all that different. All of the Acrobat save operations perform some type of modification on the PDF.  For the SaveAsCopy, all internal objects associated with Reader Extensions are removed.  So it's not really a clean copy that is saved. Acrobat always has it's fingers in the PDF file, which means upgrading the version.    I have never seen the issue you've described. I suspect that it is a bug, so that there aren't any real best practices for saveing as a copy. There are other issues around the SaveAsCopy functionality in other modalities. For example this option is no longer available on the "File" menu. The only way I've found to access this functionality from the UI is indirectly by forcing operations that are not allowed on signed PDFs. The SaveAsCopy flag in the doc.saveAs() JavaScript function does not work correctly.  So there might be something about changes in the internal SaveAs thats got an issue. The issues I've mentioned imply that the SaveAsCopy functionality has been partially removed.    But you say that using other flags with PDSaveCopy gets it to work properly? Part of the problem, is an issue with how date strings are parsed. You're date string contains extra things that are not needed, and that's the issue with converting that particular string.  But the other, more important part of this issue, is that your code is completely unecessary.   The "creationDate" parameter is already a Date object. Just to be very clear, you state that the form fields are in the combined PDF and working. Then they dissappear after the second user fills the form and saves it.  What application are they using to fill the form?  Something else has to be touching the PDF at this point, where it's saved, not where it's combined.    As a test, can you extract the form from a combined file that has not been filled by the second user, and post that form so we can see the difference?    ... Yes, how was the second "dissappeared" file created?  Since it is not a combined file.  Exactly what tools (apps) were involved?   The fields appear to have dissappeared because the parent objects for some of the fields have been removed from the AcroForm object. This could result from pages being copied to a new doc without copying the associated document level data.    ... View more

This is possible to implement with a script.  So the form will work as long as the viewer the used to display the PDF supports field scripts, which means the desktop Acrobat/Reader.    I'm assuming that by "box" you mean a dropdown selection list.
