As per the cfchart docs: FORMAT="flash" HAS BEEN DEPRECATED in Adobe ColdFusion (2016 release). Normally they leave it in a bit longer but as updates happen things just suddenly disappear.

You want to be getting the Byte Array of the fileContent rather then String. Using getAsBinary attribute returns the Byte Array (Binary) value of the response, so by using the toByteArray() function instead of toString() you get the same content back. Without knowing a number of things it very hard to tell. What hotfix version of CF11 is it. Have you checked all the logs on the server? What is the code generating the spreadsheet? What browsers? Do you see any browser console errors?

Technically it is designed for development and testing and shouldn't be used in a production environment. It depends if you count the deployment as production. I assume as they say it is not meant for production deployment then the EULA will forbid it. Also note that it cannot be upgraded to standard or enterprise. It will have to be reinstalled.

The CLI spins up a mini server when its run, it has no concept of the datasources you require so they need to be setup when the CLI is run. You need to set up an Application.cfc with the datasources being created here. Then used later in your code. If the site is hosted in IIS then use the URL Rewrite module in IIS. (Requires adding if not already installed). Mod_rewrite is an apache thing. If you develop using .htaccess then it wont work live on IIS. A .htaccess file needs to be created in the root of the web folder if it doesnt exist. It usually isnt their by default. A quick google of how to create a .htaccess file will give you what you need.

Normally happens because the characters are not UTF-8. Word has its own apostrophes and quote marks that are none standard and can cause this if someone just copies and pastes it. Coldfusion 10 is no longer in support let alone available to buy. If you have CF 8 you will have to buy the latest version on CF enterprise. There is no upgrade path from CF 8/9 anymore.

I dont think they have an option anymore for upgrading from CF9 to CF2016. You will have to buy the full version. Find a local reseller and contact them to ask. Probably get better response then direct from Adobe.

In my experience I have found that after following the lockdown guide, the hot fixes never install correctly most likely due to permissions. As part of the lockdown guide you change the service that is running Coldfusion to another user. This is where the permissions problem exists. I don't know exactly why, even when the user has full permission to the CF folder but I find myself just changing the service user back to the default (SYSTEM) and then installing the update. It never has any issues doing this.

You will need to post some code so we can see what is going on. There will most likely be something wrong with the CF code you are using causing this. It sounds like someone has just out a CFDUMP of the query on the page.

Coldfusion 10 is no longer available. The support for this product expired this year. If they were to allow a downgrade it would be to CF11. Why cant CF2016 be used by your web service?
