@X-T4Newbie Yes, I think it would be a good idea to provide a choice of original date - probably exif:DateTimeOriginal and photoshop:DateCreated. In most cases these are the same for born digital images, but not always for scanned images, especially if the date was edited later.   IPTC reccomends photoshop:DateCreated for the original photo date, so it's worth including, in case another person using the script prefers it.   exif:DateTimeOriginal is used by the Bridge "Edit Capture Time" command, it would make sense to include it as an option.    Side note: there are endless debates about the definition of metadata standards. One could argue that "Capture Time" is for the scan date of an older photo. There could all kinds of reasons to follow this or not. I think it's fine to use it for the date of the orignal photo, especially since Bridge provides an easy way to edit it.   ... Mostrar más

@Lumigraphics your Keyword Optimizer was very helpful and I based my de-duping and sorting on it (Thanks for making and sharing so many great scripts). I think the clean keyword list is pretty good, given the complexity of the source keywords. The duplicates are really cases when a single word is also part of a hierarchy. @X-T4Newbie here is the script I came up with. Copy it to your Bridge Startup Scripts folder and restart Bridge. Select image file(s) then look in the Tools menu for "Copy Select Keywords to Description". When you select it you should see this window:   Some features: Choose IPTC Subject, Lightroom keywords, or both Enter keywords to eliminate from the list, e.g., Events,People,Places,Things. You do not have to enter the "|" character for Lightroom categories, just enter the word, e.g. Events.  You can select the separators after Date Created and keywords. Your selections should be retained the next time you run the script. You can manually edit the New Description to make it exactly as you wish. Hopefully the other features are self-explanatory. Notes: Your keywords had some repetition where some single words were also included in hierarchical combinations, so there may be words in the list that seem redundant. These would be difficult to exclude. Your sample JPG appears to be a scan, so the Date Created is not for the original photo, so you'll have to deal with that. The XMP property for the original date the photo was taken should be photoshop:DateCreated.   Download the script from Dropbox. You should be able to do it without creating an account. If you think your Lightroom keywords contain all the values you need, I'll work with that. Here is the XMP from a sample JPG from @X-T4Newbie  It has both dc:subject and lr:hierarchicalSubject. Either one will be easy to work with. For your RAW files, you might want to create a Bridge workflow to convert them to JPG. My idea is to have a list of all your saved keywords on the left. You would select keywords and they would be added to a "Match" list on the right. These would then be saved to the Description.     Question: Do you want all of your chosen keywords added to all images in the folder or do you want them added only if they exist in each image? I would imagine that your chosen keywords would not apply to every image otherwise you could just enter them in a single batch edit. I thought you might want a list of chosen keywords that searched against each image and if a keyword is found, it would be added to the Description. This is possible, but there are some pitfalls.   Can you send a sample image so I can see if you are using Dublin Core subject or Lightroom hierarchicalSubject? Yes, I think you might be able to use existing Bridge tools to accomplish your goals as @Stephen Marsh suggests. You seem to know what the incorrect keywords are, so you could use the advanced search to find them and then manually edit the keywords in the Bridge metadata panel.  There are always many ways to approach these problems. I would export the keywords from the files and edit them in a spreadsheet. I find it easy to analyze and batch edit in a spreadsheet, so that would be my choice.   @Shlomit Heymann are you familiar with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)? I have seen this recently in custom metadata panels, but it might also be happening in the standard keyword panel. Most often when this happens, the metadata is actually saved in the file, but it doesnt display.    Can you try navigating to another folder, then back? If that doesn't work, try restarting Bridge. I modified it slightly to improve the color (just eliminated the background color) which looks good on Windows. Let me know if it's okay for you. I also renamed it Description/Caption for clarity. Oh, that's not good. I was able to reproduce the problem, but something weird is going on. When I restarted Bridge, the replacement description was there. This script is an old script, maybe the metadata writing function needs to be updated for newer versions of Bridge. @Stephen Marsh maybe your script would work better ... Mostrar más

Here's how you install it:   On Github, click the green Code button, then click Download ZIP   Unzip this and look for the file Find and Replace.jsx You will copy this file in the Bridge Startup Scripts folder. To find this folder: In Bridge, go to Preferences > Startup Scripts > Reveal My Startup Scripts   Copy Find and Replace.jsx in this folder. Restart Bridge and confirm you want to load the script.
