I may have the wrong term, I have a number field, I want there to be a 0 (zero) in the field, so use options/default value. When you enter the field the zero goes away, I want it to stay, so when user enters number, the zero remains at the beginning?

Whatever you put in #3, is what shows up in #2. So 1,2 and 3 are the same in this case. #2 gets that from #3, no way to make those 2 different. I may have worded my question wrong. Does the Label #1, have to be the same as the Name #3 to be accessible? For example, I could have a label Name and in # 3 put hippo if I wanted.

Hi, I am looking for a documented answer.....something official. I have a form, where the form fields use the Label as he Name in properties and in the tooltip I use Enter your name. It is my understanding that in the form properties, the Name should be the same as the label, with a better description in the tooltip. Does anyone know where I can find this answer? Would the form be considered accessible if the label was not mentioned in the properties of he form? Thank you.

When you create radio buttons, the hover text is the Tool tip on the General tab of Properties. Example: Are you Canadian? Yes - No - Maybe So on the general tab I put Are you Canadian? in the name field, then I can put a Tool Tip....then on the options tab Radio Button Choice I put Yes for one No for another and Maybe for the 3rd. When I hover over each button, they all say the Group Name Are you Canadian? This is how they work. I do not want that, when you hover over Yes, I want the hover to say Yes and the No to say No and the Maybe to say Maybe. But they all hover the group name. How can I do this, or is it not possible?

I understand all the licensing things, makes sense. What does not make sense is why Adobe would use a font for a field that cant be used for text. as you say... The fonts you see in the form fields are specially licensed versions that Adobe (and various font manufacturers) allow to be used just for that purpose: form field text. But not text in the rest of the PDF. This to me is mindless and just another way adobe fails users.

yes, I can download and install. But why on earth would adobe make us do that. It allows for fields but not text. If it is licensing, why doe acrobat not substitute when fonts they cant use are used in the source doc.

No, I want to edit the text as mentioned. Your answer, it is not addressing the issue. But that is ok. The behavior of Acrobat and Reader conform to the spec. This does not make sense. I want to edit text, Adobe can allow this in fields but not text. If you think this is normal, nothing I can say. Mindless Adobe. Remove the fonts that cant be used in both.

When I edit a PDF with Helvetica, and use Arial beside it, it shows a difference. Try it yourself. If a word doc uses Helvetica, it converts as Helvetica, but then you cant edit it unless you change all the font. See the difference. So if I insert words into an existing paragraph....looks real bad. Helvetica 8.25 pt Arial 8.25 pt Mindless fore sure!!!

Being new at JS still, I may have mis spoke. I am trying to learn ad do stuff on my own, but holy JS is not easy. I need a script that will check 2 dropdowns to make sure a choice was made. There is a default of 'click for more options'. So my script checks to see if click for more options was chosen, if so it generates an error message......but then still emails the form. I need to get the email submit in the script, not sure how. This is what I have. I tried using and AND/OR but it did not work. if (this.getField("typeofestablishment").valueAsString=="click for more options") { app.alert("Please select a valid Choice Number 5"); } else if (this.getField("typeoflossortheft").valueAsString=="click for more options") { app.alert("Please select a valid Choice Number 6"); }

I have a drop down that is required. but I do not want to have a selection pre chosen. I want to see it empty when first opening the form. but when I do that, it accepts the blank as a choice. I want to set the field as required but and force user to make a choice.

Hi, I have this and it works except, in the actions tab, I have the submit form, it still activates after clicking ok on the msg box. Did I forget to close something. I have 2 dropdowns. and a submit button. I want it to test if an item from the drop downs were selected. The option displaying is 'Click for more options' So check to see if it says 'Click for more options' ---- if 'Click for more options' is still showing, generate a message to say, please choose from the list. Because these fields are required, it needs to test for a valid selection....
