Tariq thank you for the information. I was referring to the variability between projects developed in primarily MS Office which is installed on 95% of government computers. When the same project was saved in Acrobat format on one computer and opened in another achieved the results they were looking for. The only funkiness with acrobat now is viewing on a cell phone. Almost unreadable. The Adobe Acrobat team does an awesome job documenting changes made in the app. Wish the other Adobe App Teams can apply some of these ideas when upgrading their apps.

Twenty years ago I was running PS on a Sony Vaio while on the road. There were some latency issues. I would not even consider editing with PS on a laptop. Even with a high end desktop there are latency issues when post processing. A nice feature in LrC is the tethering capability on a laptop.

Which ver of PS are you using. If I understand your goal is to select a straight line w/o holding the Shift key. PS can already accomplish this. May have to help depending on complexity of the object you are trying to select?

Not sure of the accuracy of Google Lens. However, when I have tried, as I recall there was only one out of a thousand where the item was mis-identified. Again commonality among the apps is a win-win IMO

I am not sure if Adobe has something in the works to identify objects. Google Lens may have some open source options. If Adobe can leverage these resources, this would be awesome.

No, as I have stated all along "Standardization" of terms between the apps. As an example what almost everyone who has ever used a computer in the past 30+ years has encountered an Adobe Acrobat file. In the early years of the Acrobat file the user became very familiar with the icon and what to expect when opening the file. However, in the past few years others developed apps to create PDF files. This has caused some unexpected results. The PDF files are like a box of chocolates and you don't know what you are going to get.

I have no misunderstanding. The slider shows temperature. The reference point is a deviation from the daylight temperature of 5600 kelvin +/-. Really need to learn the values you are looking at.

This sounds like an argument to take up with Adobe engineers? If you call it one name in one of the apps, then maintain consistency. Without looking I think ACR refers to it as color temp. If this is the case then U/M should be Kelvin. Any idea on the +/- 100 value is measuring? There should be standardization across the photography world. Especially in Adobe products where they handle several different formats. This is in no way to say Adobe is wrong.

You should be able to see what LrC is shows to be the color temp. If this value is incorrect, then LrC is not measuring the color temp. An Adobe person may have to answer the color temp algorithm? However, you seem to be missing the point.

There is actually an algorithm which can calculate the differences in colors in the image. However, again we seem to be talking past each other. The bottom line is in the title "Standardization" if you call something Color Temp then this should be based on the Kelvin scale. When I buy light bulbs I buy based on the color the light emits. The unit of measure is Kelvin. In my early days of photography understanding and applying the scale to your work is important. However, today we have the flexibility to warm or cool the image in post processing. Not sure where you guys went off course. In any case I will leave it alone.

What is the baseline/reference point being used in LrC for the Color Temperature? https://www.adobe.com/ca/creativecloud/video/discover/color-temperature.html We just need to apply the same rules between the apps.

Apparently you do not use studio lighting, color temp scale is measured in Kelvin. If you call it color temp, then use appropriate scale. Regardless of the file format.

Stephen Your'e missing the point. What I am stating which should be clear in one word "Standardization" However within a suite of apps you apply should have rules which are applicable to all apps within the suite. If you have one app which applies the measurment scale which is known in the scientific community as color temperature "Kelvin", why would you refer to it as +/- 100. What is this measuring? When setting up studio lighting, the color temperature is based on Kelvin not on a +/- 100. ACR should use the same scale for color temperature as this is the unit of measurement.

I recently discovered what may appear to be an oversight and/or dumb down within Adobe Creative Cloud apps. The vast majority of my post editing is done in LrC. I was not even aware of the differences between LrC, PS, and ACR. I really like the way LrC scale uses the Kelvin scale allowing the user to better understand the image color temperature. LrC provides a better analogy in comparing the image to real world K temps. Not sure what the scales represent in either PS or ACR. Would like to see these apps be set to mirror LrC. This way regardless of the app you are working in and would like to set the temp to ~5600k be the same.

Amal; Appreciate the response. Adobe created the specification for the portable document file. Is there a consortium for the aftermarket PDF creators? Acrobat has several awesome features. One of them is the ability to replicate WYSIWYG. We had several customers come to us with projects they developed on the workstation computer. They were surprised on the differences between the display on the various computers. When I showed them what Acrobat Pro could do they were amazed. Acrobat Pro is not perfect. Just a lot closer then many other apps.

I have been a long time user of AA Pro since version 5. Although some versions took a step back on some of the features, was still a rock solid app. A major impediment was the overwhelming majority of the users were clueless on using several features built into the app. They would have been most comfortable using AA Reader. I was using Pro daily up until retirement. Now I only occasionally being retired. I think Acrobat may be getting a bad rep which I do not believe can be blamed on Adobe. I think this may be due to some aftermarket apps which can generate a PDF. When most users see the Adobe PDF logo on the file an assumption is made the file was created using Adobe AA Pro. May someone can shed light on how these companies are generating these files. The other day I downloaded a PDF from a government website. I have a myriad of issues with this file. Was totally unlike the AA files I could navigate, and make enhancements to. I could not even recognize the GUI. In the past I with the most recent versions I would change to the more friendly GUI in AA. Could not even perform this task. I was able to get around several of the obstacles after several painful seconds. I checked the properties and the file was created using iText 7.x. Yes, security features were applied to the file. This is not the first time experiencing this with these PDF creators. No, I have no connection to Adobe. Just want to share personal experience with those who are quick to blame Adobe. I have no problems with the AA files generated in Acrobat Pro.

Can you be more specific. Which version of Acrobat are you running? Short of having information on your specifics you may want to try these links; https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-acrobat-crashes.html There is a tool to repair Acrobat. You wil find it on the Menu Bar under Help.

I am a little perplexed with what you are asking. The part that caught my eye is Ctrl +T. I have always used this shortcut to Free Transform an object. I guess you can re-assign keys to perform another task. Personally I like the selection tool. Makes selecting an object quick and easy. I can quickly access Quick Mask and Paint (Q & P)add to or take away from the selection. Since you state you have been using PS from first versions you probably already know this. So, I must be missing something in your complaint?

You are in the right forum "Idea". Sounds like a niche area of attempting to stitch together 100-200 images. I think the most I have done personally has been 7 or 8. Not that it means anything since I do not make a lot of panos.

I concur with some of the links others have posted. Depending on where you live you may have access to Linkedin Learning. Several public libraries provide free access to hours of many of the Creative Cloud apps. You can login at home. They do not have the marketing. In addition to other sites posted, some other good sites on YouTube; https://www.youtube.com/@PiXimperfect https://www.youtube.com/@f64Academy/videos There are several awesome sites available to learn PS. However, the best learning method is to immersion and learn nuances of the feature.

Assumption was based on LrC having a GPS mapping function that you had access to LrC as well. Another assumption is most users use LrC or ACR to post edit images and then send to PS to make any final adjustments. Since I have not used geo tagging images not invested the time to explore this feature. However, a quick search leads me to believe the mapping feature is only in LrC. I guess with the number of drones in the news there may be some interest from others?

Working on image editing in PS the ability to identify an object through linking to Google Lens search. As an example you have a picture of a flower and you want to know the name of the flower. You can export then load the image in Google Lens. However, you have to save as a JPG first. Create a link to quickly id the object.

Not sure why you want a map viewer inside PS. Have you checked out the map module in LrC? Assuming you want to view the images based on a geographical location. Google Earth also allowed the user to post images. Not sure if this is still the case since I have not used it in a stretch. Adding too many features can slow down the app unnecessarily.
