never seen this behavior. Do you have any media stored online such as dropbox, icloud, etc? If so, that could be the problem and it's never a good idea to work this way. Unless you've invested in a cloud based shared media solution, this is not a practical way to work

an edl should reference BOTH source timecodes and Sequence timecode. How did you get this edl? The formatting of edl's can be a little daunting. I suggest you edit a clip or 2 into a sequence and export an edl and see what it looks like. You might want to add the edl to this thread and I'll see if it's setup properly. Spent many many years building edl's for online video edits...

wondering if there could be a permissions issue on the "dropbox" folder. I mainly work on a mac, saving my project files to a local folder which automatically syncs to dropbox without any issues. So I'm not familiar with how windows handles permissions. Maybe try relocating the dropbox folder to your startup drive... And just another thought: is anyone else logged on to dropbox at the same time you're seeing this issue...

I have a clip that is 24fps and when I bring it into premiere and "interpret" it to 23.976 to match my sequence settings... the clip displays properly in the project panel, but if I select the clip and go to "properties" it says it's still 24fps... And if I edit into a 23.976 fps timeline, and select the clip in the timeline and go to "properties" it says it's 24fps. Is this a bug, or am I just having a senior moment... working in Premiere 24.3.0. It looks fine as far as I can tell in the timeline. The is for a sample edit for a DP in which I have a variety of sources all with different flavors of approximately 24 fps..
Thanks as always.

but in some circumstances, render and replace is the way to go. It locks in the "render" so that you won't lose the render if you accidentally change any parameters for the clips and if I remember correctly, you can move the clip around, etc. So it might make sense to investigate this further to see why this is not working.

Never easy to troubleshoot premiere problems from a distance so please tell us your system specs: OS version, Premiere version, amount of RAM, Hardware specs including graphics card and if you have any 3rd party plugins installed for Premiere... Wondering if this could be a permissions issue on your startup drive? You might try creating a new user on your computer with adminisitrator privileges and see if the problem persists when you sign in from that user. Post back if you have any questions on how to do this

Here's my workflow. I save all my premiere pro projects in a folder that automatically backs up to dropbox. The dropbox interface is not always intuitive, but once mastered is pretty much fool proof. Because I subscribe to dropbox (with the adobe discount) I get access to all versions of the project for the last 30 days... If you need any help with this workflow, post back. That said, it's always a smart idea to doublecheck that your backup and autosave projects everyonceinawhile.

you can filter markers by label which should allow you to at least manage multiple sets.

as I said "intermittent and unpredictable." The consensus is that you should convert to a constant frame rate... Also, I strongly recommend Shutter Encoder which gives you more control and you can choose to transcode to an all "i-frame" format such as prores which although the file sizes will be much bigger, will make for easier smoother editing. If you have any questions, post back

gotta say I've never had a problem with prores files in windows WITHIN Premiere... But there are some non-mpeg windows compliant video files that should work without issue.

iPhone footage is variable frame rate which can cause intermittent and unpredictable problems. Search the forum for instructions how to convert to constant frame rate I’m on the subway now, but if you can’t find the instructions post back and I’ll point you in the right direction later this evening Michael

I select the active sequence in the timeline named for example assy1, click on reveal in project in the hamburger menu, and then choose duplicate sequence. I then rename the original sequence, updating the 1 to a 2 so I have the sequence I want to work on already loaded in the timeline. Hope that makes sense, it's been a long day.

first, much smarter to convert to a mezzanine format like prores rather than an mpeg format like mp4. But that may not be the source of your issue. Make sure your converted file matches the mts file for frame rate and starting timecode.

many people are using this workflow without issues. If you want help troubleshooting: Never easy to troubleshoot premiere problems from a distance so please tell us your system specs: OS version, Premiere version, amount of RAM, Hardware specs including graphics card and if you have any 3rd party plugins installed for Premiere... Also, sequence settings and clip properties can also help. Although you can throw almost any format into premiere, some formats can be problematic, particularly on an underpowered system.

downloaded the preexisting files from youtube and they were 44.1, dropped the clips into the timeline (so the timeline settings matched the source file) and then exported using the vimeo 720 preset which makes the audio 48k... They seem fine on youtube now. So, as far as I'm concerned, best practices is always to work at 48k 16 bit for the audio unless the delivery specs are different which might happen for high end music projects, etc.

When I saw this on the list of FAQ's, I wondered if Adobe had changed it's policy of just offering the current and previous version of the app. It seems that there is no obvious rhyme or reason as some apps have a few other versions available. It's possible I missed a post about this change...
But on this page
https://tinyurl.com/m3z99jk3 (I've used tinyurl cause the address is way to long)
Adobe says "We provide installers for our current apps and the previous major version of each."
So just a heads up if you're looking for an older version. worth checking the creative cloud desktop app as the page suggests.
I know I've answered peoples queries here looking for earlier versions with imperfect information...

well thanks for nothing... (just kidding). Downloaded the videos, dropped them in a timeline (so the sequence settings matched) adjusted the synch and then used the vimeo 720 preset (so the audio was 48k) to export. Reuploaded to youtube and everything seems ok (at least so far). A pain because you can't replace videos which I guess is partly to keep the number of views accurate. Fortunately (or not) the videos did not have a lot of views. But was able to delete the preexisting videos from the playlist and put the new versions on the playlist... I've left the preexisting videos on youtube in case anyone has a direct link to them. The client didn't think the synch issue needed to be fixed, but I couldn't live with it being about 8 frames out of synch. So I didn't charge him... fool that I am. He's a good client so forgive the whining.

first thing to do would be to isolate the rectangular shape and copy to a higher video track scale it up a bit and then perhaps play around with the effects: distort: transform.
