Hello, I am having the exact same issue, out of nowhere, I can't use camera raw in Bridge, raw files are opened in PS camera raw. It messes part of my image resizing workflow. I am coming with an update on this thread, after updating to the latest version, Adobe Photoshop Version: 22.4.0 20210512.r.195 5b318a5  x64, the lag seems to have disappeared. I have the rtx 2060 super oc and the stutter is still there, almost 6 months later, working on 8000+ pixel images with few to many layers. Nothing that i tried till now really worked, except for unchecking show overlay, which i don't consider being a solution.  Also it's even more laggy if you zoom in past 100% in the image.  ... Replying to my own comment here, after more testing and working with different files, including 8gb .psb of 17000x13000 pixels, the lag and stuttering is there. It also happens on 9000x6000 pixel images as you build up on layers. ... View more

Hello guys, After so much frustration and things that I tried, I think i found the problem here. I did the following, went into Preferences / Performance / Advanced Settings for graphics processor. There i unchecked "Use graphics processor to accelerate compution" and it seems at first glance that the problem is odly solved, or better yet, solved'ish. You can also try unchecking "Use native sysem GPU acceleration". Drawing mode is set to advanced, cache lvls from 2 to 8 dont change much and cache tile size is 1024k. I didn't have enough time to thoroughly test it. Let me know if you guys see anything different by doing this.  It's crazy that it's been around 2 months and 5 or so updates later, and Adobe still didn't bother to look into this huge problem. So, I managed to get and test laterst version on PS on my last gen maxed out imac from work. Sampling also does some sort of stutter and lag on stamp tool and healing brush on mac os also. This is really annoying and it's breaking the workflow. Can you guys look into it allready? It seems to be more obvious on 50+ mgpx images. ... View more

Hello, i have tried changing the sampling rate from 125 to 225 to 500 to 1000 and it doesn't seem to do anything. Also it seems that disabling show overlay in clone source tab solves the issue, also disabiling the video card in performace prefs seems to solve the issue the ps becomes a mess to work with. I am having the latest studio drivers from nvidia, I tried even reinstalling, reseting prefernces, changing different prefrecences. @JeffreyTranberry  I enabled windows ink from the wacom interface. Now the stutter is gone, but the lag is still there as sampling misses clicks. When i put the pen away and use mouse and keyboard, it's again stuttering and laging. I suspect something went wrong when that windows ink update came along. ... View more

Indeed, I have uninstalled PS reinstalled PS, deep deleting all prefs, uninstalling/reinstalling cc app. Nothing seems to fix it. Played with the performance options, unchecking video card and so on. Nothing works. ... View more

Exactly, and i got no answer to this day. Probably ther new version has something faulty. Weirdly enough this happened on older PS versions too. Problem seems to come from 'show overlay' for the stamp tool. Disabling it makes it work normally, and that sucks beacause you have to give up on a very usefull functionality. ... View more

So, after a bit more research, i found out that the lag is made by the 'show overlay' in the clone source tab group. Deactivating it fixes the issue, but I can't consider this a 'fix' as i am disabling an usefull tool functionality. ... View more

Hello,   So, after reseting the preferences and it working properly for only a short while, sampling started doing the same problems mentioned before. This is happening to me for quite some time, running on diferent windows machines. It's starting to bother me more and more lately because i am doing comercial work only on windows for the past couple of weeks, and this lag/stutter is quite disruptive to my workflow. As mentioned before, this doesnt happen only with the wacom table, but by pressing alt on my keyboard too. Changing different performance prefferences like changing the video card settings from advanced to normal, don't seem to help.
