We can now display and change the label color of sequences right in the sequence panel.
Steps to access the feature
Update to the latest beta (v25.2 build 81 or later)
Go to Timeline Display Settings (wrench in Timeline panel)
Enable the following option: Show Sequence Label Color (it is off by default).
This option will add a Label color swatch to the left of the Timeline > Sequence panel, similar to After Effects.
You can also assign a keyboard shortcut. The Timeline > Sequence panel’s contextual menu (e.g., right-click) also has a Label dropdown menu at the bottom. This will change the label color for just that sequence and update the same sequence in the Project panel (and vice versa). You can also assign specific Timeline panel shortcuts to each Label color separate from Timeline clip Label colors to avoid conflicts.
Known bugs
Timeline Sequence Label color name changes are not reflected in Keyboard Shortcuts editor. You can change the name of the label color, but the name changes are not reflected in the Keyboard Shortcuts editor.
Questions we have for you
Should this be on by default?

@jiachengc49413218 et al. We just fixed this issue in beta. Update your beta to version 25.2 build 50 or later. Now, when you reduce the timeline's zoom level, short-duration clips will no longer look like gaps. It turns out this issue has been there for quite some time, long before the recent clip UI adjustments. Nevertheless, we have fixed this issue now.
You can test this with the following steps
Steps to reproduce the problem
Create a sequence with several very short clips (2 or 3 frames) in between longer clips (30 seconds or so)
Zoom out in the timeline until the short clips blend into a single black rectangle
Result:
The result looks like a gap. Once the horizontal resolution of the clip crosses a minimum threshold, only the 1px gap is left. When several clips are next to each other in this scenario, the 1px borders add up to look like a dark gap.
We changed it to remove the black 1px border when the clip gets below a minimum threshold so only the label fill color remains. This looks WAY better IMO. What do you think?

Hi everyone, thanks for the passionate feedback. Francis from Adobe here. I’m a Principal Product Manager on Premiere Pro.
The real talk is that yes, we did underestimate how many of you were utilizing the Console to adjust font size!
UI font size adjustment has been a request that’s been made for years and got shifted or re-prioritized from time to time. As your monitors have gotten larger, your requests have understandably got louder.
You’ve probably seen that Adobe moved to a new unified design language this year. That included a tremendous amount of infrastructural change that has been in the works for a long time. (There are 29 panels and hundreds of dialogs in Premiere Pro that must be reviewed and considered when making visual adjustments!)
All that to say: we’re finally at a place where we can push this closer to the top of the to do list. We now have two active engineering efforts: one for investigating adding font size adjustment throughout Premiere Pro, and one for adding support for operating system UI scaling.
As an Adobe employee, I must also mention a reminder that the Console is only meant to be an internal development tool; you are not even supposed to know it exists! Removing this debug flag wasn’t an intentional removal of functionality, it was a result of broader clean-up of old code. That’s part of the reason we never encourage anyone outside our engineering teams to utilize the console – you never know what you’re going to get, and you can really break stuff messing about in there.
That said, I’m sorry you all had to rely upon this back door to make Premiere Pro look the way you need it to look! We’re working to make this right.

The waveforms are small in my example because the volume is low. I should have chosen a better example for a screenshot or gained it up first.

Our plan is that this is the new look of the app. We do not plan to provide an option to turn it off. I ask that you give it a chance. Try working for a few hours with this new treatment. My very first impression of this was like you "ew, I don't like it." I was a professional editor for 10 years before joining Adobe as a Product Manager on PPro, so I have a LOT of muscle memory and opinions about what a pro app should look like, as I'm sure you do. I fully acknowledge that changes like this can be disruptive at first. But I've been running this treatment for several weeks now, and I have to admit that when I go back to the old version, it looks very old-fashioned to me now.

We recently increased the contrast of the clip colors to help with this very issue. You can customize Label colors presets here: Preferences > Labels. You can also change the default color for different types of clips. If the default green for audio is not to your liking you can choose a different color preset or customize a brighter color. What you can't do is choose the individual colors. So you can't have Red waveforms on a green background for example. You might also like the new themes and high contrast (Accessible color contrast mode.) Preferences > Appearance.

Starting with Premiere Pro (Beta) version 25.0, build 32, all clips in the timeline have rounded corners!
Rounded corners in the timeline
As part of the New Spectrum UI updates, we are now adding rounded corners to all of the clips in the timeline UI. Rounded corners are easier to look at all day long, require less cognitive load to parse and understand, make it easier to see the boundaries between clips, and are just plain friendlier! There is a lot of psychology behind rounded corners. Just look at any object within sight right now, and you will start to see rounded corners everywhere.
Here are a few interesting reads on Medium that explain the concept rather well.
Rounded edges are “friendlier”
The human brain is conditioned to process sharp objects as potentially harmful and dangerous. A human neuroimaging study has shown that it is natural behaviour to lean towards objects with curved contours compared to sharper objects.
(Benjamin Tey, The current obsession with rounded edges in user interfaces)
The Effect
A complete lack of sharp edges and sudden transitions eradicates the manufactured feel that we’re so used to in mass-produced goods. Instead of reminding us of industrial supply chains, automobile production, and chemical laboratories, these softer shapes evoke succulents, pine trees, and rocks that have tumbled through mountain streams. There’s an organic quality that just feels healthy and warm.
(Arthur Van Siclen, Rounded corners in the Apple Ecosystem)
The radius will reduce as the clip gets very small to avoid the timeline looking too “bubbly” and there is a threshold width below which clips will revert to 90° angles entirely. We have tested with very large timelines and we are confident in our settings, but we want to know what you think. We encourage you to post screenshots of your timeline if you wish.
Radius reduces when narrow

Hey, beta users!
Starting today, August 5, Premiere Pro betas will switch from v24.6 to the next major version, v25. We make this switch once a year when we get close to shipping the last dot release of one major version and switch to the beta of the next major version.
Premiere Pro will guide you through the project upgrade and automatically version the project file. Unless you specifically save over the original file, you will have a backup.
Like previous major version changes, Premiere Pro projects saved in v25 cannot be opened in previous versions of Premiere Pro, including the shipping version (v24.5 at the time of this post). This means that a project opened and saved in the beta of v25 cannot be taken back to the shipping version.
It is also required to have v25 of After Effects and Media Encoder to make use of Dynamic Link. It's recommended that all three be updated at the same time.
As always, we recommend that you do not use a beta version of Premiere Pro for critical production work, but we’re reminding you here just in case.
More information about the Creative Cloud beta program is here.

The metadata that gets injected is specific to the container, not the codec inside the container, so you should expect the same support for all codecs that a container supports. If you find different, that's a bug we need to investigate.

As of Premiere Pro (beta) version 24.5.0 build 18, you now have access to over 15,000 Sound Effects, ~11K of them being FREE! We have also added the ability to filter between Free and Premium, exposing over 2K Free Music tracks. These are all pulling from Adobe Stock.
To access Stock Audio inside Premiere Pro
Enter the Audio workspace (or just open Window > Essential Sound panel)
In the Essential Sound panel, find the “Browse Tab”
NEW – click on Music or SFX
NEW – click Free in the Filters section
With Timeline Sync you can press play on a music track or Sound Effect in the Essential Sound panel which will start playback of the media on the timeline, allowing you to preview the cues in the context of your edit to truly give a sense of which track works best.

Did you know that there are actually three monitor windows in Premiere Pro? There are the Source Monitor and Program Monitor that everyone knows and loves, but there is also the Reference Monitor. We have decided to remove the Reference Monitor due to extremely low usage and awareness. In the ongoing effort to modernize our codebase and maintain the highest possible quality in the app, we sometimes have to say goodbye to old, out-of-date features.
Don’t worry!
We are NOT removing the source monitor.
We are NOT removing the external transmit monitor capability (what most people call a reference monitor). Your AJA and BMD boxes will continue to function!

We are aware of an issue affecting some users in Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder version 24.2. A crash on startup may be experienced for some Windows systems with certain NVIDIA GPUs supporting CUDA. Some user are also seeing that they cannot enable GPU acceleration for CUDA. At this time, we do not believe an NVIDIA GPU driver update will resolve the issue since the issue is believed to be in the Adobe codebase.
While we track down the source of this crash, we have decided to pull the 24.2 releases of Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and After Effects from the Creative Cloud Desktop application. We plan to issue a 24.2.1 patch as soon as the issue is fixed.
This issue affects Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and After Effects.
Workarounds and recommendations:
Revert back to 24.1
or
Update to 24.2.1 (once it is available)

We are aware of an issue affecting some users in Premiere Pro version 24.2. A crash may be experienced when accessing or using text styles in Essential Graphics. Here are some of the errors being reported by customers:
Crashes when trying to drag a text style saved in the bin to the timeline
Crash dialog appears after trying to save a text style
An error occurs when moving between files when multiple projects are open
While we track down the source of this crash, we have decided to pull the 24.2 release from the Creative Cloud Desktop application.
This issue is only known to affect Premiere Pro.

You can now expand or collapse the Media location sections in Import Mode. The state of collapsed sections will be retained across Premiere sessions via application preferences. One valuable use case would be to favorite your most commonly used media locations, then collapse all other sections, leaving favorites expanded.

Premiere Pro now has the option to keep the folder structure exactly the same as the OS filesystem when importing folders through import mode.
Until now, Import Mode did not have the ability to replicate folders on disk as bins in the project. Import Mode would just import a flat list of files. In some cases, this may be desired, but in most cases, you want to maintain the organization from your folder structure on disc. Now we provide an option. Find this in the new “Organization” section in import mode.

@Remote Index @Ann Bens I agree with you! I'm unsure what happened to the previously known and fixed issues from earlier releases, but I agree we should have them. Like @Kevin-Monahan, I do not have the power to change this, but I'll figure out who does and see why this change was made.

@Jeremy32358084o02l The default for range setting in the export settings is indeed "source in/out". But it will remember whatever the last setting was. It does this on a per-sequence basis. If at some point you changed it to "Entire Source" that's what it'll be set to the next time to try to export that sequence even if you have in/out points set. It's good practice to check that setting before you hit export.

Synchronizing camera angles or video and audio via the audio signal has been a feature in Premiere Pro for a long time now. There are a few ways to do it. Here is the most basic way.
Put video and audio onto the timeline so they overlap
Select both video and audio
Right-click and choose "Synchronize"
In the dialog that pops up, choose "Audio"
You can also do the same thing while building multicam clips.
Synchronize clips

100% agree @Ann Bens. Better late than never. And you'd be surprised how often I see "DSLR" presets being used because they are the closest thing to 1080p24 that people can find. This just seems . . . logical.

We have streamlined the sequence presets by creating some new ones with the most common specs and moving all the old ones down to a “legacy” folder.
Access these presets whenever you create a new sequence from any of the following places:
File menu > New > Sequence
Project panel > New Item > Sequence (this is the little icon in the bottom right of the project panel)

Updating to 23.5 will not restore them, unfortunately. You need to restore the KYS file from a backup if you have one or redo your custom keyboard settings. Going forward, they will be remembered.
