Hi @Alluring_Sunshine5C7C
thank you for reporting this. Can you please answer the following questions so we get more insights:
- Is auto-transcription enabled?
- Is "Visual Analysis" enbaled in the "Media Intelligence Analysis & Transcription" preferences (Premiere Pro -> Settings...)?
- Are you opening a recovered project after the force quit or the original project? Before it became unresponsive for the first time, did the relinking process finish completely?
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @kg77
thanks for checking in again. I'm sorry to hear the error is still persistent. It would be great if you could send me the UXP logs again when this issue happens (if you run into this issue: save and close Premiere Pro, then grab the logs).
Thank you!

Hallo Jonas,
Kerstin

Hi,
I can also reproduce the issue with the Japenese file and the re-import of the txt file shows indeed a difference in the timecodes. My first impression is that some characters from the end of segment 1 are moved to the beginning of segment 2, this is why the timecode changes. I'll investigate this further with the team and get back to you once there is an update.
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @SHAWN251770010jk5
I looked at your sample clip and the reason why it’s not transcribing is due to phase cancellation in your audio. Your audio is a stereo clip with L and R channel, and if you convert them to a mono clip, the L and R channel will cancel each other out and result in silence, that’s why nothing gets transcribed. This is something that can be avoided during the technical/camera set-up before recording.
To fix the issue in your clip, you need to invert either the L or the R channel to avoid the phase cancellation. The best way do to this is in Audition (open the clip, disable one of the channels by clicking on the L or R toggle, then select Effects -> Invert).
You can also do a workaround in Premiere Pro which will only allow you do generate static transcripts (instead of dynamic transcripts which are used for text-based editing). These are the steps:
- Right-click on your clip in Project panel, select Modify -> Audio Channels
- Change Clip Channel Format to Mono
- Change Number of Audio Clips to 2, hit OK
- Add clip to your timeline, unlink audio from video
- Add the audio effect „Invert“ to only one of the audio channels
With these steps the phase cancellation should be inverted and you can create a static transcript via the „…“ menu in the Text panel.
Hope that helps!

Kerstin

Hi @SHAWN251770010jk5
Thanks for reporting this. I'd love to get the sample file as well so I can share it with the engineering team – can you share it through a direct message with me?
@Stan Jones so sorry to hear that, I hope everyone is safe out there!
Thanks,

Hi @TVW5E16
can you please share more details?
- What Premiere Pro Version are you on?
- Does the transcript show up when you double click on a transcribed source clip?
- Does it say "Transcribe" or "Re-transcribe" when you right-click on a previously transcribed source clip in the Project panel?
- If you're looking at a sequence transcript, are any audio tracks muted?
- Did you reset the preferences or changed anything else when opening the project again a couple of hours later?
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @kg77
thanks a lot for sending the logs! We looked at them and believe we have a fix ready for this issue, it should be available in the upcoming 25.0 release of Premiere Pro so please keep an eye out for the update and let us know if you're still seeing the issue.

Hi @kg77
thanks for reporting this. Do you recall if that Text panel error happens radomly or only after you are doing a specific action (e.g. insert text as clip to timeline, or when making edits only in the Text panel and not in the sequence)?
Once you can reproduce this error again, please check the following folder to see if any .log file had been added around the same time the error was triggered. If yes, can you please share it with me?
For Mac: User/Username/Library/Logs/Adobe/Adobe Premiere Pro
For Win: os(c)/users/username/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Premiere Pro/Logs
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hello @yash-lucid
Good news, we have fixed the issue you were describing above – so now when you make a text correction in a nested sequence transcript, only your changes should be applied. You can try this out in Beta build 25.1.0x9 or newer.
Please let me know in case it's still not working for you.
Best,
Kerstin

Hi @Peregrina_I
please try to reset your workspace to the default layout and check again.
Also, do you use the Reference monitor in your set up?
It would be great if you could send me your project file (media can be offline if you can't send it) so I can take a closer look. It's hard to investigate from a distance since I can't reproduce your issue.
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @Peregrina_I
I'm still trying to understand why this is happening. Does this only happen to a specific video clip you are using, or does the "No dialogue found" screen show up for all the clips you are trying to transcribe? Do you have any audio effects or audio plugins applied to the clip? Is it possible to share the clips that's failing with me so I can try on my end?
Thanks,
Kerstin

Thank you for confirming that workflow. We will look into this and I will let you know once there is an update on this bug.
Until then, the workaround I can think of is editing the transcript in the source clip itself (open the transcript of the source clip(s) and make the text corrections there, not in the sequence transcript).

Kerstin

Hi @yash-lucid
thank you for the detailed bug description, this helped us to reproduce the issue on our end. I only see this happening when the sequence that you nested contains clips from multiple different media files – is that also what you are doing?

Kerstin

@MARK289812799y90
I checked your screen recording and it looks like the language packs have not been installed correctly. Did you install Premiere Pro through the Creative Cloud app? You can manually install the language packs through the Creative Cloud app:
1. Go to "Apps"
2. Click on the "..." next to Premiere Pro and select "Add ons"
3. From there you can add the language packs you need. After the pack is downloaded successfully, transcription should work again.
Please let me know if that helps.
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @wilfredrene,
thanks for reporting this. In order to find out why transcriptions are not working well for you, can you please answer these questions:
- Which hardware are you using?
- When you say that only 0,03% of the transcription is correct, what exactly does this mean? Do you get an English result for your English audio, but the transcript doesn't match what's heard in the audio?
- Are you transcribing English audio and Portuguese audio separately (e.g. all EN clips on a sequence transcribed to English, all Poruguese clips are transcribed to Portuguese separatley?)
- Do you have "language auto-detection" enabled?
- Did the language pack for Portuguese download correctly from the Creative Cloud app?
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @Andrew27641742yo7k & @Stan Jones,
thanks for looking into this and sharing so many details. It's very odd what @Andrew27641742yo7k is seeing while the corrected transcript imports correctly for Stan.
@Andrew27641742yo7k did you make any changes to the timeline after you exported the transcript as text file? And did you import it for the exact same sequence for which you did the txt export? What kind of text changes did you make, was it just correcting certain characters, or did you also change the punctuation, line breaks, etc.?
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @premiumleo
a few more questions:
Which version of Premiere Pro are you using? Which hardware and software configuration do you have? Are you generating static sequences for each language, or do you transcribe all your source clips in the specific language?
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @premiumleo
thank you for reporting this issue! I have a few questions:
1. Do you have multiple Premiere Pro projects open at the same time? Or do you have different sequences for each language?
2. When the crash occurs, do you see the Crash Reporter window? If yes, please fill it out and send it so that we can search for it in our data base (please let me know the email address you put in the Crash Reporter). This will help us understand why it's crashing for you.
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @Nathan22611041x7rt
this is very odd behaviour, thanks for reporting it. I can't reproduce this on my Windows machine so it's hard to tell what's causing this. Would it be possible to share the project file with me that contains the transcript you're trying to edit in your screenshot (offline media is fine)?
Thanks,
Kerstin

Hi @Hendrik N.
thank you for reporting this. We are currently aware of a performance related bug when "Enable language auto-detection" is checked – even when auto-transcription is turned off – and we're working on a fix for that. For now the workaround is to uncheck language auto-detection.
I'll keep you posted once there are updates on the fix!
Best,
Kerstin
